Gatamatos is a phalynx located in Forgefire Outpost in Bastion. He was created by Pelodis.

History

Pelodis asked a Maw Walker, who had come to Forgefire Outpost on his invitation so they could experience what it was like to work with phalynxes, to retrieve Gatamatos who hadn't returned after a patrol in the Golden Pasture.[1] Gatamatos was malfunctioning, randomly attacking nearby creatures, and had to be repaired by Pelodis and Hopo with new armor pieces, anima, and some engineers gathered by the Maw Walker.[2] Once repaired, Pelodis told the Maw Walker to bring Gatamatos along while hunting some Agitated Etherwyrms,[3] and looking for gems in the Hall of Beasts,[4] so they could test that he was functioning properly. While Hopo told the Maw Walker to take care of Leonid, a wild larion who had chased many stewards, with the help of Gatamatos.[5] As the last step to Gatamatos' retraining, Pelodis asked the Maw Walker to do formational drills with him. After that Gatamatos was once again functioning at standard.[6]

When the Maw Walker decided to join the Kyrian Covenant, Gatamatos, accompanying Pelodis, was present during the reception the Archon arranged for the Maw Walker, in honor of their efforts against the Maldraxxus incursion in Bastion.[7] The Maw Walker would also occasionally visit Forgefire Outpost and help with Gatamatos' upkeep.[8]

Gatamatos went with Pelodis when he joined his fellow kyrian into assaulting the Maw to fight against the Mawsworn. In Cocyrus, Gatamatos was one of the companions the Maw Walker could choose to help them defeat the Jailer's champions that threatened the kyrian forces, Malfestus, Domonous, and Furis.[9]

Some time later, Pelodis brought Gatamatos along during the grand reception before the ceremony where Adrestes was made the Paragon of Devotion.[10]
