The Deepscale tribe of saurok only recently appeared from the sea when the Skyseeker crashed upon the Wandering Isle. They sought to pick through the wreckage for anything useful and attacked the survivors.

Trivia
- In the early beta of the game, they were simply known as the Deep Sea tribe, in the sense that they were called "Deep Sea Tormentors", "Deep Sea Fleshrippers", etc.
- Darkened Horrors have a "Shadow Geyser" ability, but there is otherwise few explanation about what makes them "Darkened".
- They are the only known saurok tribe to have traveled out of Pandaria, possibly by swimming as indicated by their previous "Deep Sea" naming convention.
