Dark Ascension is a Shadow priest talent. When used, it increases all non-periodic shadow damage by 25% for 20 seconds.
It is an exclusive choice node with 
[Void Eruption], and is designed as an alternative to the 
[Voidform] playstyle. It functions similarly to the Cataclysm-era talent 
[Archangel].

Notes
- Affects the instant damage done by
[Devouring Plague] and 
[Shadow Word: Pain], and the damage dealt by 
[Shadowfiend] (or 
[Mindbender]). - Unlike [Voidform], Dark Ascension does not grant the full effect of
[Mastery: Shadow Weaving] while active.
Patch changes
Patch 10.1.0 (2023-05-02): Dark Ascension and [Void Eruption] should now properly override the other on your Action Bar when swapping talents. - Patch 10.0.0 (2022-10-25): Re-added and redesigned. Increases your non-periodic Shadow damage by 25% for 20 sec. Generates 30 Insanity.
- Previous talent: Immediately activates a new Voidform, then releases an explosive blast of pure void energy, causing Shadow damage to all enemies within 10 yds of your target. Generates 50 Insanity.
