The Da'kani are a tribe of intelligent gorillas in Gorilla Gorge in Zuldazar. They became enlightened due to exposure to kaja'mite, which wasn't always there.

History

Kaja'mite gave the Da'kani great intelligence and wit, but with intelligence came war. The peace-loving Da'kani were imprisoned by their brethren but were set free by an adventurer at Tsunga's request, eventually culminating in the defeat of their leader, King Da'ka.

When war came to Zandalar, Bilgewater goblins attempted to poach the Da'kani despite the gorillas' best efforts to speak with them peacefully. In response to this, Grong joined forces with the Alliance, volunteering to become a living weapon against the Horde by converting his intelligence into pure strength with gnomish technology.
