The Consulate was an order of eredar magi and a part of the Augari. They were led by Arc-Consul Velara, who received her title from the Master of the Augari Archimonde, to acknowledge her substantial knowledge of her craft and pursuits of the powers of creation. Under her tutelage, they vastly expanded their ability to summon arcane creatures that still linger in Eredath, she was also largely responsible for cultivating the shield technology still used nowadays by the draenei and the Army of the Light. Grand Vizier Jarasum acted as her second and oversaw much of the day-to-day operations in the Conservatory of the Arcane.[1]

When Sargeras came to Argus and offered the eredar a place in his "kingdom", Archimonde was the first to accept.[2] The rest of the Augari leadership followed suit, including Velara and Jarasum who became Arch Magus Velysra and Lord Jaraxxus under the Legion.[1] Most of the other Consuls either followed or were killed by the demons. The order ceased to exist at that time, presumably, as no Consuls have been seen since then.

During the Argus Campaign, the spirits of some Augari Consuls served as portal keepers beneath Kil'jaeden's Terrace and were encountered by the adventurers' followers to stop the Legion from quickly reinforce Eredath.[3] As two of Archimonde's greatest pupils, Jarasum and Velara held such power in their own disciplines that the Conservatory remembered them even centuries later. Their echoes had to be defeated during one of Vigilant Quoram's trials in order for the Army of the Light to advance their quest to obtain the  [Sigil of Awakening].[1]
