Clever Use of Mechanical Explosives is a quest achievement taking place in Stormsong Valley on Kul Tiras.

Walkthrough

1. Loot  [Pig Nose] from the Carved Wooden Chest in Briarback Kraul. This unlocks the option to buy the item for 25  [Briarback Quills] from Hobbs in Brennadam or Sanya Wraithschilde in Warfang Hold. One Pig Nose gives a 15-minutes buff. Since the objects are randomized, it may be time-consuming to loot the correct item, so bring more noses. The objects are also visible during Faction Assaults.
2. The goal is to find a small mushroom object called Truffle and loot  [Sporonite Bomb] while the Pig Nose buff is active near the trees in Stormsong Valley. There are five Truffle objects in total, with the others being related to  [Every Day I'm Truffling].
3. Once Sporonite Bomb is in your bag, go to a cave in Hillcrest Pasture^{[51.8, 79.6]} to find The Lichen King. First, engage the fungarian in combat, and then throw the Sporonite Bomb on it.

Alternatively, the item can be bought on Auction House. After buying it, go directly to The Lichen King.

Trivia

• This is a throwback to the world first 25-man The Lich King kill by the guild Ensidia, who used an exploit consisting of using Saronite Bombs to bypass the boss's mechanics. The players were suspended for 72 hours, and the items and achievements gained were removed.
• The achievement's name is a play on the phrase "clever use of game mechanics," which exploits can sometimes be misconstrued as.
