Cariel Roame is a Hearthstone-original character who debuted in Forged in the Barrens. Her story largely centers on her older sister, Tamsin, and their father, guard captain Cornelius. After Tamsin's presumed death at the Scholomance during the Scourging of Lordaeron, Cariel became a paladin and joined the Silver Hand in an effort to find guidance through faith and to make her father proud. As a new paladin, she was stationed at Northwatch Hold in the Barrens. It was there that she heard a strange rumor: Someone matching her sister's description had been spotted in the area.^[1]

Cariel's story continues in the Book of Mercenaries. Her chapter sees her return to Stormwind City to tell her father of Tamsin's return as a Forsaken warlock. While she's there, Anetheron and his Legion forces attack the city. She manages to defeat him and goes to find Tamsin, only to discover that her sister has broken their father's mind and turned him into a monstrosity.
