The Breadbasket Guild is an organization created by a gathering of Westfall farmers, former Defias Brotherhood members, and war refugees, who sought to revitalize Westfall and help its inhabitants. They are good people trying to do right by each other, notably by working the farms again and to get proper homes built for folks. With the support of Countess Cecilia Clessington in the House of Nobles, their guild was formalized to request support from the kingdom, and soon they will hold a vote to decide who should be at the helm.[2][3] They use the Saldean's Farm as their headquarters.

History

Following their victory against Count Clessington and the Defias Brotherhood in Northshire Valley, Vanessa VanCleef and Cecilia Clessington traveled to Westfall and met with the locals at the Saldean's Farm. In order to revitalize Westfall, the farmers and workers united to form the Breadbasket Guild, an official organization with the support of Cecilia, who succeeded her late father in the House of Nobles. While some leaders were receptive when they bargained for support, some nobles were opposed, most being those who escaped the arrests for corruption ordered by King Anduin Wrynn.[4]

For Vanessa and Cecilia, the Breadbasket Guild was a first step towards real changes in the Stormwind society, not only by uniting the voices of the people to bring a message to the leaders of the kingdom, but also to make things evolve from inside the House of Nobles. Their long-term goal being to gradually transform the House of Nobles into the "House of the People".[4] Among the nobles interested in their project, Lord Joran Tremaind began to support the Breadbasket Guild, as his noble family once had a hand in the farmlands of Westfall and never would have gotten far in their affairs at Eastvale Logging Camp without the help of the good farmers.[5]

However, Vanessa refused to join the guild as an official member, as she is still a criminal in the eyes of the law, but also because her name would discredit their cause. She therefore participated in the shadows to plan and organize the actions of the guild. According to her, many corrupt nobles appeared favorable to the actions of the guild but will soon prepare their agents in the shadows to put an end to it, refusing to let the people of Westfall have power. The former Kingpin of the Defias then announced that she was there to protect the farmers from their enemies.[1]
