Battlemaster Bröng is the leader of the Garad'kra, a group of elite Horde militias. Just after the militia's founding following the Cataclysm, Bröng assembled the Garad'kra in Orgrimmar's Ring of Valor to give them their first orders: ending the new threat posed by Aratas and his centaur army. Despite his position, he seems to not agree with the division that was growing within the Horde under Garrosh Hellscream.

The Garad'kra team led by the shaman Shagara learned that the centaur's attacks on Horde settlements was a distraction meant to allow Aratas' army to invade the Horde's capitals. Shagara sent a message back to Bröng to give the Horde time to prepare, while she and her team traveled to Desolace to strike at the centaur directly.

Shagara's team managed to kill Aratas and his elemental father, but only by taking great risks and at the cost of one of their members, the Darkspear Rada'jin. This bought the Horde time to move their armies into position and scatter the remaining centaur. Back in Orgrimmar weeks later, Bröng told Shagara that she had been reckless but that her mission had been a success. Shagara disagreed, as she was bothered by Rada'jin's death and disliked Warchief Garrosh Hellscream's treatment of the Darkspear, regardless of what Garrosh thought of her opinion. Bröng replied that her boldness would serve the Horde well.
