Ashjra'kamas, Shroud of Resolve, is a cloak crafted by Wrathion. As part of end-game progression, it can be upgraded 14 times by completing a time-gated quest chain involving completing objectives in Horrific Visions. Each new rank will provide better stats and better protection against sanity loss. New appearances are unlocked at rank five and twelve.

The cloak is the total summation of Wrathion's years of research into the void and nullifying the corrupting properties of the Old Gods, especially in regards to how Neltharion was corrupted.

Upgrades

Wrathion will offer quests asking players to enter Horrific Visions. As a reward for completing his quests, Wrathion will offer upgrade items for the cloak. This involves a time-gated quest chain. The first quests up to N [50] Stepping Through the Darkness were offered week one, then an additional quest was offered each week after that.

Bonuses

As the cloak increases in rank, in addition to the straight stat and item level bonuses, the cloak also picks up some bonus effects:

  • Rank 6: Updated appearance and new on-use effect:
    • Inv misc head dragon black.png Steadfast Resolve — Dispel any effects of N'Zoth's Corruption, and become immune to any further Corruption effects for 6 sec. (3 min cooldown)
  • Rank 12: Updated appearance and new equip effect:
    • Inv misc head dragon black.png Draconic Empowerment — Your spells and abilities have a chance to increase your <Primary Stat> by X for 15 sec. Requires the Heart of Azeroth.

Trivia

  • It was named Experimental Blacktalon Shroud during early PTR.
  • The word "Ashjrakamas" has also been present in the game since vanilla as one of the random words in Draconic, Eredun (Demonic), and later Draenei in-game translators.

Patch changes

  • Battle for Azeroth Hotfix (2020-05-21): Fixed a bug that caused Ashjra'kamas, Shroud of Resolve to despawn only the most recently spawned Eye of Corruption instead of all active Eyes of Corruption.
  • Battle for Azeroth Patch 8.3.0 (2020-01-14): Added.
