This item can be obtained by:
- Completing all four objective areas and the boss in a Horrific Vision.
- Defeating N'Zoth the Corruptor in Ny'alotha, the Waking City on Normal (or higher) difficulty.
- Purchasing from MOTHER in the Chamber of Heart for 2,000

Notes
- Ashjra'kamas must be rank 15 before Malefic Core will become available.
- Malefic Core is limited to one drop per week.
- If your cloak is not caught up to the current cap, however, you can obtain two cores for that week from the first completion of a full-run Horrific Vision and N'Zoth.
- Increases the corruption resistance of Ashjra'kamas by 3 with a max of 125 corruption resistance.
Patch changes
Hotfix (2020-06-24): MOTHER now offers Malefic Core for 2,000 Echoes of Ny'alotha to players who have upgraded their legendary cloak to Rank 15. Malefic Cores can be purchased repeatedly up to the current maximum Resistance that the cloak allows (currently 92 Corruption Resistance, and next week this will increase to 95). - Patch 8.3.0 (2020-01-14): Added.
