Andari was a Lamplighter of the Hallowfall Arathi and the best friend of Faerin Lothar. They convinced the young Faerin, who'd lost her eye and arm during the expedition's arrival to Hallowfall, to play Light's Gambit to learn strategy, as a way to get her to rest from her constant military training. When Faerin and Andari lost game pieces, they started making new ones as a hobby. Andari's kindness and friendship helped Faerin mentally heal from her trauma.

At some point, the traitor Aelric Leid ambushed Andari. Andari was killed in the Harrowing Depths when they were trying to hold off a small horde of monsters from reaching a tower Faerin was defending. Faerin deeply misses Andari, initially blaming herself for their death and keeping quiet about her grief to others. Anduin Wrynn and an adventurer collected some of Andari's belongings from the Harrowing Depths and helped Faerin process some of her emotions over a game of Light's Gambit. Faerin commented that "Andari would have loved playing with you two."
