Warcraft II: Combat Edition, often abbreviated as War2Combat, is an unofficial stripped-down version of Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition that is specifically designed for portability and ease-of-use. It provides the user to play on third-party servers instead of the Battle.net servers (which are no longer available) without a CD-key and adds additional new features and bug fixes that is designed to improve the multiplayer gaming experience.

Version 4.01 restored the original single-player campaigns, which can now be played in addition to connecting to an online multiplayer server.[1]

It also works with the official GOG.com server (and checks the CD-keys).
