Datamined content
Hi there. Appreciate your enthusiasm in updating wowpedia, but keep in mind that datamined Battle for Azeroth content may be out of context or even temporary. As such, we need to keep track of them so please don't add datamined content to infoboxes and keep such information into sections clearly delimited by the {{bfa-section}} template or to pages marked with the {{Stub/BfA}} one. Naming convention
Hi. There was an existing file called "Katherine Proudmoore.jpg", 6 months later a comic was published with Katherine in it, so you cropped a pic from it and called it.. "KatherineProudmoore.jpg". Same for "PriscillaAshvane.jpg". "Katherine [Proudmoore] Reunion.jpg", for example, would've been a much better choice, as it makes it explicit for the readers where the picture is from, and for the editors what the difference is between the two files, something that isn't possible just by looking at the names "Katherine Proudmoore.jpg" and "KatherineProudmoore.jpg". -- MyMindWontQuiet 01:03, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
PNG vs JPG
In most cases, images like screenshots, artwork, and the like should preferably be uploaded as JPG, not PNG, in order to keep their file size at a manageable level. --

- It's actually perfectly fine to use PNGs over JPGs, it's even preferrable. The "issue" if there is one was that the pic was 3Mb when it could be lighter. (But even that seems to be suject to debate lately, we might want to discuss it more in-depth at some point.) -- MyMindWontQuiet 21:48, 11 September 2018 (UTC)

- This is not a function of the file being a PNG, this is because the file is too big. The same would have been done to a 3Mb JPG file.
- PNG will always be better than JPG for a simple reason, because it is lossless, meaning that it can never lose quality or information.
- And even then, it's not like Wowpedia lacks diskspace, Kaydee will say that. :P -- MyMindWontQuiet 22:00, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
