Videos are nice, but...

Due to technical limitations, I am unable to watch them. If your videos provide strategies for achievements like this, I'd really prefer having the text summary of the strategy on the page like you did here. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:04, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Ok, thanks for the tips!

Some useful macros for you...

You asked for a way to get NPC ID and the like... take a look at User:Kaydeethree/Macros. --k_d3 01:52, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, was very helpful. Unfortunately, the item info macro doesn't seem to work at all, both on live and PTR. All the other ones work, except this one. =/
Alas, it requires the item to be in your inventory. It's been annoying me too. I'll try to write one that works from the vendor pane at some point.
Also, don't forget to sign your comments with four tildes. (--~~~~) --k_d3 17:53, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

Re: Wowwiki and discussion page.

I happened to be reading Eirik's talk page and saw your post. Only admins can delete, so you have to use {{sd}} mentioned above ^. However, you can move pages (aka rename), or at least eventually. That might require being a member for 4 days, I'm not 100%. If you have problems doing that, let someone know.

As for the  Glory of the Hero user box, do {{User achievement|Glory of the Hero}}. It looks like this:

Inv helmet 25.png This user has earned the Glory of the Hero achievement.

Good luck and welcome!

As for editing, you have at least the basics down. Beyond that, a large part of it is trolling the wowwiki and mediawiki help pages, or discovering examples on wowwiki pages and reverse engineering them... :) --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:23, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

[Sky Sapphire] looks fine to me. Are you still having a problem? /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 4:45 PM, 30 Jul 2009 (EDT)
A few things.
  1. The current icon that you see, is the one for the  [Majestic Zircon]. I put this one in, because the old one disappeared, or never worked. Another thing is, I left a message to Coobra, about the Prismatic gems in 3.2, since they will no longer be prismatic. Tell me what you think? Also reading the forum page about Jewelcrafting.
  2. I'd like to add a "cost" icon for Titanium Powder here, for the  [Dalaran Jewelcrafter's Token].
  3. About the Prismatic page, I'd like to know how you would prefer to do it, since Dragon's Eyes are going to lose their Prismatic status. So would need to:
    1. Remove them from the Prismatic page, leaving only the 3 Tear gems.
    2. Update them to their 3.2 values.
    3. Either put them in each of the gem page (so divide them, and place them in the red / yellow / blue page), or create a new page (name?) with all the Dragon's Eyes cut, and place it under the Special Gems. Cityhunter0505 - Etsuko (talk) 21:22, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

(1) It's a known wikia issue with caching. Use {{problem}} on the offending image page.
(2) See {{costitem}}. It supports anything. But you can also put in the request on the {{cost}} talk page.
(3) Still thinking on it. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 6:14 PM, 30 Jul 2009 (EDT)
Though we'll all be busy for a few days, with patch being out today, any idea for the Prismatic gems? =) Cityhunter0505 - Etsuko (talk) 16:10, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Done and done, thanks for the tips. =) Cityhunter0505 - Etsuko (talk) 22:37, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Titanium Powder

There is a quest for this found on wowheads website. I think is is a repeatable quest like the [Relics of Ulduar] and [Everfrost Chips] are to the Sons of Hodir for rep.
The information Cityhunter0505 is talking about is even on MMO Champion:

Patch 3.2 - Where can I get Epic Gems?

The patch will probably hit the live servers very soon and a lot of people ask me the same question : Where can I get the Epic Gems? It shouldn't be hard to answer that, currently there are 4 ways to get them :

Jewelcrafting / Prospecting You can find epic gems by prospecting Titanium Ore, it's probably not the best way to get it because Titanium is already fairly expensive but if you need as many gems as possible and don't want to wait, go for it. Prospecting Titanium will give you an epic gem 25~30% of the time, the droprate for rare gems seems to be the same, and you will always get an uncommon gem. If you're lucky enough you can even get 2 epics on the same prospect.

Note: You will also get Titanium Powder 60% of the time, you can exchange 10 of them for a Dalaran Jewelcrafter's Token and get your new recipes even faster.

Alchemy New transmutations are available for these gems. (20 Hours cooldown)

  • Transmute: Ametrine
  • Transmute: Cardinal Ruby
  • Transmute: Dreadstone
  • Transmute: Eye of Zul
  • Transmute: King's Amber
  • Transmute: Majestic Zircon

PvE - Emblems of Heroism You can buy any of the epic gems for Emblem of Heroism. These emblems do not drop anymore in 3.2 and are replaced by Emblems of Conquest in heroic instances / raids dungeons but you can still exchange higher tier emblems. (Emblem of Conquest -> Emblem of Valor > Emblem of Heroism.

  • Cardinal Ruby, Majestic Zircon, King's Amber can be bought for Emblem of Heroism x 20.
  • Ametrine, Dreadstone, Eye of Zul can be bought for Emblem of Heroism x 10.

PvP - Honor

Last but not least, you can buy any of the epic gem for 10,000 Honor Points.

I was agreeing with both of you and made the same post on both pages - showing you where the quest info was (I did not download the PTR this time around so could not see if it is on there or not) and showing her the info on mmo-champion - you both are right wowhead shows it is a quest and mmo-champion verifies what you said - so the info should be on the page. -- (M o r p hJames E. Linking to items and npcs or any other article located on Wowpedia

Oh by the way if you need to link to NPCs such as Tiffany Cartier you do not have to put the full wowwiki url in the link (eg. [http://www.wowwiki.com/Tiffany_Cartier Tiffany Cartier]). You can omit the http://www.wowwiki.com/ and just use [[Tiffany Cartier]]. This will save you on having to type out long urls or having to copy / paste from the browser's address bar. -- (M o r p hJames E. Rooks, Jr. aka: Morph

Are you wanting [How To] to be a link to How To? If so then use [[ and ]] those are interal links like Alliance and the single [ and ] are for external links like when refering to [http://wowhead.com wowhead].

Nope, just the format I use for my Youtube name videos. First made my page so it could be easier to sort and find my videos, and then started to work on editing stuff here and there. =) Cityhunter0505 - Etsuko (talk) 22:04, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Tables that use classs="darktable zebra" and have rows with color

Pcj has made a way for us to use the class="darktable zebra", so that you do not have to have every other line with |-class=alt on them, and use your |-style="background:#<color numbers>;". You just have to on that one line add class="nozebra" so that the zebra striping will not overide your background colors (eg. use |- style="background: #662020;" class="nozebra" for the red background). -- (M o r p hJames E. Glyphs

Technically Sebreth is correct, if you didn't want people bothering you and messing with the page you were fixing up in several edits, it would have been best to use a sandbox, but I'm just happy to see someone working on the glyph page. Keep up the good work. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 05:08, December 19, 2009 (UTC)

Yup, just was annoying to see no comment whatsoever on the deletion thing. Will change the edits differently now. Thanks. Cityhunter0505 - Etsuko (talk) 06:13, December 19, 2009 (UTC)
Left no comment because it seemed to be vandalism to me. Every single section had death knight glyphs, so... I do apologize about that, though. -- IconSmall BloodElf Male2.gifUi-charactercreate-classes rogue.png Sebreth (talk) 06:19, December 19, 2009 (UTC)
by the way, would it be possible to delete the class specific glyph (i.e Death knight glyphs), since they're kind of useless? You'd have to edit both the glyph pages, and these pages, every time a change is made, which is kind of redundant. Cityhunter0505 - Etsuko (talk) 06:13, December 19, 2009 (UTC)
Well, you could just update Death knight glyphs then translude it to Glyphs under its appropriate section, using <onlyinclude></onlyinclude> tags and {{:Death knight glyphs}} under the Death Knight section. Same for other classes. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 08:54, December 19, 2009 (UTC)
Should be all done, though there's some sort of glitch on the Glyph of Shadow line on the Priest's page. Then need to update some glyphs, and check if I didn't miss any. Cityhunter0505 - Etsuko (talk) 17:34, December 19, 2009 (UTC)
Was wondering if the newest style is the only style that allows the transluding or if we could use the old style. I like the older style better because it doesn't require hovering over a glyph to see what it does, and this way also doesn't show what tree its in. I like the ability to see the source (training/book etc) though, so was wondering if we could combine the best of the two worlds. Sraw (talk) 08:44, December 27, 2009 (UTC)
If by older style, you mean having the glyph plus the description beside it, I'd recommand against it. Glyphs are changed pretty often, pretty much with every patch (since they're mainly used to help balance classes around PvP and PvE). So having the old style would mean that every time aglyph is changed, you'd have to change both the glyph, and every page with descriptions, resulting in a lot more work/trouble. Cityhunter0505 - Etsuko (talk) 09:50, December 27, 2009 (UTC)
I'd have to agree... I find it annoying to update ability/spell/talent pages for that very reason... Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 10:03, December 27, 2009 (UTC)

RE: Tooltip screwing up

If you want item tooltips to appear correctly on a page that doesn't match their name (ie Abomination Knuckles on  [Abomination Knuckles]) then you must use the parameter |disambigpage=Abomination Knuckles (heroic). Doing this will allow {{heroic}} on  [Abomination Knuckles] to work correctly. Icons... to quickly find an icon's name simply visit the wowhead page, double click the icon there, copy and paste. Don't forget to add the heroic parameter to heroic items (|heroic=1). Hope this helps, Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 06:50, December 27, 2009 (UTC)
