Once it was two empires, the Mogu and the Zandalari, however Lei Shen was able to unite the two into a solidified empire he called the Twin Dynasty and from this union forged the Stormlands. With the Zanchuli Council acting as his advisers, Lei Shen led a bloody conquest and took the neighboring lands belonging to the pandaren and tol'vir forcing them into his empire.

Twin Dynasty

Before the realm was united under Lei Shen it endured an age known as the Age of a Hundred Kings where many mogu warlords attempted to build their own dynasties and empires. The Zandalari Empire had fallen into disrepair as several of their subject states broke off to form their own empires far from the domain of Zandalar, the holy mountain home of the Zandalari. Lei Shen was born to one of the kingdoms ruled by his mother and he hated the state of the mogu. He entered the sacred valleys of the Mogu and returned wielding great power, ursurping his mother and begun conquering each Mogu King. The mogu would engineer races to act as slaves, morphing pre-existing races or animals into new races such as turning the placid pandas into the hardy pandaren. When it came to the Zandalari Lei Shen was brokered a different deal, one where Lei Shen still stood on top but the Zandalari enjoyed many more freedoms and rights than those conquered. Lei Shen accepted with the Zandalari monarchy abolished and the Zanchuli Council rising to act as his advisory council. This begun the Twin Dynasty who conquered all other races, from the rogue troll tribes to the Tol'vir of the distant Uldum. Under the rule of the immortal Thunder King the Stormlands grew fat on victory much to Lei Shen's frustration.

It was the Collision that brought the various worlds together that gave Lei Shen a reason to whip the Twin Dynasty back into their true conquering roots. They swiftly begun invading the new neighbouring realms of Lightlands and Nightlands, as well as dealing with invasions from the distant realms of Twilightlands, who send hordes in insectoid creatures so dangerous that the Mogu swiftly build a great wall to try and stem these invasions. Lei Shen hear whispers and rumours of the Temporal Spire and the power over space and time within that could grant him power to create total order over all, his ultimate desire. While the Twin Dynasty has fought the True-Iron Horde before, there are sightings of emissaries of the Dynasty and Horde meeting one another, a dire prospect for the other realms as the idea of an alliance between the two would prove incredibly dangerous for the other realms.
