The Shadow of the Legion is the final 27-boss infinite raid instance taking place on the Legion's target corrupting the World's Heart instead.
Background
Yogg-Saron, the Master of the Burning Legion, has defiled the World's Heart, spreading the spooling corruption of the Void and the Fel throughout Azeroth's very core. The shining purity of the world soul still endures, but Azeroth is more vulnerable than ever, and the writhing essence of the Fel and the Void is attempting to infusing itself into the world soul. At this critical moment, Yogg-Saron, the reincarnated Old God, launches his own assault upon the World's Heart, intending to usurp Yogg-Saron's place as the corrupter of Azeroth and become the Dark Titan that will end the age of sanity in the universe. The defenders of Azeroth must battle the hordes of the aqir, the chaotic demons and deadly abominations of Yogg-Saron, and the corrupted memories of Azeroth herself in order to preserve the world from the darkness of the Void and chaos of the Fel.
Bosses
The mighty invaders of Azeroth are great in number and they pose a threat for the core and the worldwide over Azeroth across five sections with increasing difficulty.
Wrath of the Legion
- Doom Commander Ral'jek - The dreadful Ral'jek Felwing, Commander of the Legion's assault on the Eastern Kingdoms (or Kalimdor for Horde), looks forward to decimating the stalwart defenders with his mighty weapons. He leads his forces into battle aggressively, in desperate search of any who may pose as a protector.
- Zalregoth the Dreadful - Those scouring the Eastern Kingdoms (or Kalimdor as Horde) for more demons to defeat will come across a mighty Pitlord known by his title as the Dreadful. This demon proves to all who dare challenge him that he is no mere demon: Zalregoth commands the power of darkness like no other Pitlord can and will use it to his advantage in slaughtering the mortal defenders of Azeroth.
- Taskmaster Gh'vex - On their attack stages of Azeroth's assault including Eastern Kingdoms (or Kalimdor as Horde) that tried to defile the World's Heart, the almighty C'Thrax Gh'vex sents to wipe out the defenders infusing with fel-infused saronite energy. This means they faced off an almighty lumbering juggernaut of the Old Gods for intending to halt the defense.
- Phenomitox the Ascended - A fel-corrupted Twilight ascendant joined by the Burning Legion who bears himself for the name as Phenomitox, an ascendant made of fel that hungers it's victims of deceased warriors. They were headed to Eastern Kingdoms (or Kalimdor as Horde) but now they should stand in our way that defies their reason of the Legion before in Legion's defiling of the resilient planet Azeroth.
- Shadreus - The dark entity known as Shadreus exists in a state of shadow flux, existing within both the Physical world on Azeroth and in the Twisting Nether. With this double phasing effect, he can devastate his victims without them ever having a chance to retaliate. Heroes wishing to vanquish this creature must approach with caution lest they find themselves plummeting into the eternal void.
- Khaz'goroth and Aggramar - The titans of Pantheon, Khazgoroth and Aggramar, that have become tainted memory versions by the Burning Legion and his master Yogg-Saron. They were bring opportunity to make his offering but still they rejected ourselves to fight against him. Heroes would make to deal with the corrupted memories that guarded the Portal to World's Heart but Yogg-Saron begans defiling Azeroth, Khaz'goroth and Aggramar would have been standing for.
The Portal to World's Heart
- Nethermus - The Legion's first demon dragon, created by Yogg-Saron himself, Nethermus feeds and lives off of the warping energies of the Saronite Influx. His intelligence is limitless and his strength unmatched. He gladly awaits mortal heroes as they approach his lair. He bears pretense as he invites his mortal guests, offering them a respite which only equates to a horrible death.
- Prophetess Thu'raya - The last of Shivarra following his defeat on Antorus, Thu'raya awaits their demise to accomplish their goal by wiping out Azeroth. Even so that she returned to it's life for the Legion's master, Yogg-Saron, along with their mothers Asara, Noura and Diima that only to guard their heart instead.
- Nurla'thotar the Emblamer - This is Nurla'thothar, Legion's mighty Aqir, lived to the Saronite Influx's energy that will making his creature to mutate into fel corruption. Nurla'thotar unleashes their will to the Aqir that repels the defenders that tried to restore memories back and preserving the corruption away from Azeroth, it will eagerly to unleash the potential brute force with it.
- Glaucis Fleshblade - A former Kyrian sent to the Bastion via Shadowlands that has been fell to the influence of the Old Gods and the Burning Legion, he served to release Sargeras and defeat Illidan Stormrage but only essential Saronite Influx to disrupt the Lord of the Legion himself with the parasite of Old God's body. Now, the fel-corrupted dark Kyrian traitor waits to the return of the Legion tenfold that will come the core.
- Talimarus the Everburning - With protection from the vicious energies of the Saronite Influx, the bravest of heroes venture forth into the World's Heart. Waiting on the other side is a powerful Abyssal, hellbent on destroying any and all who enter that are not of the Legion.
- Archimonde the Decayed - After his defeat in Hellfire Citadel, he was being mummified and now that is resurrected by a Kyrian traitor Glaucis. Now that Archimonde's mutation awaits to be a horror of their Legion's past, ensuring that will mutate into several forms from the fallen Eredar lord. These Azeroth's heroes decided to against the resurrected Eredar lord that befouls our Old God's will.
Prominence of the Legion
- Overseer Zedanyx - Inquisitors were the Legion's mages had chosen to the mastership of Yogg-Saron, the Old God of Death. It is the Overseer of the Legion named as Zedanyx that leads to our mastership that he will submit to the worship of the Legion that opposed of his reincarnated fiend Yogg-Saron. Their Inquisitor Zedanyx embarks the powers of the fel and the void, mastering into it's true course of corruption for targeting the world soul.
- Golganneth and Norgannon - Golganneth and Norgannon, one of the titans, were became the corrupted memory versions under the command of the Burning Legion and the Old Gods. The two titans were just strife and madness commanded to Yogg-Saron's affliction just only matter of time to destroy what intruded heroes you've spoke of. But that time Golganneth and Norgannon must be eliminated to recede back their memories from the titan.
- Atalvian the Flesh Consumer - Under the skies of World's Heart, the mighty giant felbat flies to the looming lair is Atalvian, one that she feeds their corpses of fallen victims filled with the substance called Saronfel. Therein lies that Atalvian protects the nesting grounds from incoming mortal heroes of Azeroth but that she thirsts their vengeance.
- Hy'gnith - A faceless herald served by Yogg-Saron that serves as the corrupter of Azeroth during the reclamation of World's Heart. It is only their plan to consume the vicious Saronite Influx energies, forming it into fel-wracked terror. Heroes would only to defeat Hyg'nith that protects Yogg-Saron from stopping the corruption at all.
- Warlord Vikkronil - Those venturing further will find a duo with the strength of countless demons. Vikkronil and his mighty ally Mek'granel train one another for countless, preparing themselves to take down those who defended Azeroth yet again from the might of the Legion. These demons know one another's strengths and weaknesses, allowing them transfer that knowledge into their attacks and movement. They pose a true threat as they attack as one.
- Mephistroth - Within the Legion's fortress lies Mephistroth, presumed leader of the Dreadlords. He awaits prepared to take on the mortals responsible for evading destruction of the Legion's assault on the mortal world. Despite defeating many dreadlords in the past, Azeroth's heroes must take caution when engaging this dreadlord as he will rend the flesh and rip the souls from his victims.
Heart of Corruption
- Grimartheon - Deep in the depths of the Legion Fortress lies the anguish-filled lair of the felhunter matriarch Grimartheon. She hungers for the blood of both mortal and demon, stopping at nothing to acquire it should either type enter her lair. Her senses are magnificent and she will notice an intrusion long before the intruders lay eyes on her. Hope wanes for all those that enter her quarters.
- Arcanaris the Shattered - Within the husk of destroyed body from the World's Heart, Cryogos' close friend Arcanaris lies in corpses that emanates into fel energies, twisting into a fully corruption that imbues the serpent's body. Now reanimated, opposing to defile the heart of Azeroth and completes the power of corrupted source into morbid condition that destroys the planet instead. Their defenders of Azeroth send to stop the restored Arcanaris from they intending to wipe out his source of Azeroth's lifeline.
- Kalugrax Flamewreath - One of the Jailers that is willing to serve Yogg-Saron in the last line of the Legion's defense, the almighty Jailer Kalugrax sends to his leadership to his will for the awakening the new master Yogg-Saron. They were tied up to the invasive Legion defenders from the World's Heart, Kalugrax unleashes their fel to capture their souls upon the body and eradicate the defenders that showed up to Legion's will.
- Hivemaster Jul'vagqox - The last Aqir Jul'vagqox is commanding their hive forces of Aqir to defend the hive. Until then for his responsibility of Aqir's reinforcements, Jul'vagqox seeks their last focus to determine the Legion's source. Their only along the way to stop Aqir's Hivemaster, the one that breeds Aqir creatures to defend the Legion occupied World's Heart.
- The Troika Unspeakable - Servants of the Legion named the Troika Unspeakable, one of C'Thrax generals have invaded the World's Heart including the members named Ha'sh the Butcher of Hope, Ah'k the Deaf and Gh'ik the Silent. C'Thrax generals promised to Yogg-Saron's command planning to reach the World's Heart by disintegrating the world soul. Their defenders to get an easy way for the flawless battle behind the Troika Unspeakable who have challenged their hope.
- Eonar and Aman'Thul - The last remaining titans Eonar and Aman'Thul that protects the Hall of Memory inside from the intruders but that corrupted by Yogg-Saron and turned into a tainted memory. Now that all is just the end that started within to defile the world as the Burning Legion and the Old Gods, Eonar and Aman'Thul were the last guardians of the World's Heart. The Azeroth's Heroes would make to deal with the two tainted memories if that nothing happened to her.
The End of the World
- The Crawling Corrpution - The memory source of Azeroth, tainted by fel and the Void that caused to corrupt the memories behind. On the below of the Memory Core, the Crawling Corruption is the monstrous creation of the Burning Legion under it's affiliation of the Old Gods that spawns forth the tainted memories behind the wars over the history. It is an essential key to destroying the corruption source and restoring back to become the true memories of Azeroth.
- Shadow of the Legion - With the wrath of Azeroth's guardians from the World's Heart pressing down on him, Yogg-Saron looks to his numerous defenses and sends them all against the stalwart heroes. Before going up against the Master of the Legion himself, the might of the Legion must be survived with little to no casualties if possible. Under the command of Vanitarax, the Legion attempts to devour the heroes where they stand.
- Yogg-Saron, Master of the Legion - With the devastating invasion of the Legion finally repelled on Azeroth's core and their core itself Etheric Amnion still seething, brave and powerful heroes take the battle to the Legion itself. On the central structure of the World's Heart, the Master of the Legion waits, clad in the nearly indestructible body of Sargeras, Yogg-Saron rises again, his every step a calamity, his every breath a blight upon the world. The resurrected fiend means to kill the world soul of Azeroth and destroying it. Gathering his strength from the Twisting Nether itself, Yogg-Saron bolsters in power by the minute, threatening the very existence of the Twisting Nether. Everything is bearing down on the shoulders of those who seek to eliminate the source of the Legion. Should justice prevail, all of those who fell to the mighty Legion, including the countless planets consumed in the Legion's wake, will finally be avenged and their souls finally at rest. However, if Yogg-Saron is victorious, then everything that has been fought for by all heroes from all times, will be in vain. Doing so will vanquish the Demon Lord once and for all. There will be no turning back or second chances.

The End of the World
- Mythic: The Crawling Corruption — Destroy the Crawling Corruption in Shadow of the Legion on Mythic difficulty.
- This Is Memory of Azeroth! — Kick every Tainted Memories from the Crawling Corruption to damage at 50% health of the Crawling Corruption and complete the encounter in Shadow of the Legion on Normal, Heroic or Mythic difficulty.
- Mythic: Shadow of the Legion — Defeat both Doom Lord Vanitarax, Fel Lord Kreg'thal, Fel Lord Zakuun, Tyrant Velhari and Lord Jaraxxus on Mythic difficulty.
- Need Assistance? — Engage and defeat Doom Lord Vanitarax while keeping at least one Fel Lord Zakuun and one Tyrant Velhari alive in Shadow of the Legion on Normal, Heroic or Mythic difficulty.
- Mythic: Yogg-Saron, Master of the Legion — Vanquish Yogg-Saron, Master of the Legion forever in Shadow of the Legion before it corrupts the Final Titan on Mythic difficulty.
- Heroes Stand Together — Destroy Yogg-Saron on Normal, Heroic or Mythic difficulty in Shadow of the Legion while keeping all Heroes alive and above 50% health.
- Legends of All Time — Destroy Yogg-Saron once and for all on Normal, Heroic or Mythic difficulty on the first try without any raid member deaths or any Heroes losing more than 75% health.
