Azsüne Moonstrider (pronounced "A-zsü-ne"), is the High Elf born in Quel'Thalas, Azsüne Moonstrider is the Queen of the Crown and leader of the [ [High Elf|High Elves]]. She is the daughter of the High King Anasterian Sunstrider and younger sister of Kael'thas Sunstrider. Almost all of Azsüne's extended family were killed in the invasion of Quel'Thalas (kingdom) by Prince Arthas.
After the invasion of Quel'Thalas and with the death of his father Anasterian and the return of his brother Kael'Thas renaming his people as Blood Elves and teaching dubious acts to satisfy the hunger for magic, Azsüne and Kael'Thas had an argument that ended with Azsüne leaving Quel'Thalas, some High elves who also disagreed with Kael'Thas followed Azsüne as its new leader.
Azsüne created the Silver Covenant, a militant nucleus of high elves that rejected the admission of blood elves into the Kirin Tor and took it upon themselves themselves to serve as a military deterrent to any potential.
She titled Vereesa Windrunner her most loyal advisor as the "Ranger General of the Silver Covenant", her own version of the Ranger-General of Silvermoon and leader of the organization. After her brother's death, she was the last of Quel'Thalas royal lineage and after so much trauma and now that her people were in the hands of people she trusted (Lor'themar Theron with the Sin'doreis and Vereesa Windrunner with the Quel'doreis) she decided to become an outcast.
Later, Azsüne joined a Coven of witches and learned about ancient and forgotten magics and became a witch archer. This witch was said to command winter itself, each arrow fired from her bow backed by the power of the icy silver moon...
