Sartan's Wrath is a raid instance in the Emerald Dream Expansion Concept. It features 3 boss encounters and is the third raid in the Dream Tier 01 raid tier, having higher difficulty than either Hollow'Gan or Heart of the Dream. Awakened from his slumber and infused with the corruption of the Nightmare, the colossal mountain giant Sartan threatens the safety of every living thing in the Emerald Dream.
Background
The great Sartan is a massive mountain giant slumbering in the Ignaris Mountains. The insidious satyr who serve the Nightmare tore into the great giant's slumbering body, seeking to pour the corruption of the Nightmare into Sartan's colossal form and raise him up as the Nightmare's ultimate instrument of destruction. A band of brave heroes thwarted the satyr's initial effort to corrupt Sartan, but the servants of the Nightmare have not given up their desire to make Sartan into the Nightmare's slave.
In the wake of the Nightmare's massive onslaught upon Eden'ar and the purification of the Nightmare Lord, the Nightmare's forces have been scattered and lost. Without a Nightmare Lord to guide them, factions have emerged amongst the Nightmare's forces, and the insidious satyr have returned to their own agenda. Once again targeting the sleeping Sartan, the satyr have redoubled their efforts to corrupt the great giant. The satyr have only recently acquired the means to carry out their dark design - one of the original Nightmare Seeds sent by the Old Gods to spawn the Nightmare long ago. With the power of the Nightmare Seed, the satyr will at last succeed and raise Sartan as the ultimate force of destruction in the Nightmare's legions.

Skaldir, Son of Sartan

One of the great dream giants that have slept within the earth of the Emerald Dream for millennia. The satyr unearthed the sleeping giant and twisted its mind with the power of the Nightmare, turning it into a rampaging juggernaut of devastation.
The Nightmare Bringers
- Skeggrus Darksong yells: Great N'Zoth, we worship you! We fear and we obey! Accept our offering of this tainted stone and poisoned flame!
- Vexun False-Tongue yells: Witness our devotion, Nightmare God! Send your darkness to slither through the stone flesh of this Usurper's child!
- Stirokka Plaguewell yells: We make this sacrifice, upon the altar of the world! We tremble at your power! Praise great N'Zoth!
The most twisted and despicable of the satyr that serve the Nightmare. Together, this dark triumverate has united all of their power in the effort of awakening Sartan. In their possession is one of the infamous Nightmare Seeds, artifacts made of the metalized blood of the Old Gods that long ago spawned the Nightmare within the once-pure Emerald Dream. With the Nightmare Seed, the satyr will carry out the defilement of Sartan.
Sartan's Wrath
- A hideous voice whispers: Awaken... awaken and bloom... my Nightmare...
- Sartan yells: MMMMRRRAAAGGGHHHH!!
The satyr have succeeded in their dark designs, and Sartan stirs to waking, the Nightmare Seed implanted directly into his brain. The laughter of the Old Gods pounds through his mind, driving him into an insane rage. The fury of the dream giant will annihilate the Emerald Dream. The only hope for the Dream's survival is if the Nightmare Seed is removed from the giant's brain, but the seed now feeds on the giant's power, spawning horrors born of the Old Gods' power.
Storyline
The heroes of the Dream return to the Ignaris Mountains to once again defend the sleeping giant Sartan from the Nightmare's forces. While the Nightmare has suffered a bitter defeat at Eden'ar, it's satyr servants have renewed their efforts to corrupt the sleeping giants of Ignaris, and Sartan is on the verge of awakening as their pawn. The source of the corruption is one of the newly discovered Nightmare Seeds, artifacts made of the metalized blood of the Old Gods and the very thing that spawned the Nightmare eons ago. With such a source of dark power, the satyr have everything they need to complete Sartan's corruption.
The heroes of the Dream return to Sartan's slumbering form to thwart the satyr's new offensive, but arrive within Sartan's body only to witness the Nightmare Seed being implanted directly into Sartan's brain. Reacting with the sleeping giant's great power, the seed blazes like a dark star, filling the giant with the will of the Old Gods. Sartan stirs to waking, unleashing his wrath on the heroes of the Dream and everything around him.
Only after a desperate battle are the heroes able to reach Sartan's head and tear free the Nightmare Seed. In an eruption of dark power, the seed shatters, blasting a column of eldritch energy into the skies over the Dream. Throughout the Nightmare-infested regions of the Dream, sympathetic reactions are triggered in the other long hidden Nightmare Seeds, alerting both the defenders of the Dream and the servants of the Nightmare to their location. Now, the race begins to secure the Nightmare's oldest and deadliest relics before they can be uncovered and used to tip the scales back in the Nightmare's favor.
