Nharrdrassil, the Nightmare's Crown is a raid instance in the Emerald Dream Expansion Concept. It features 10 bosses and is the final raid of the expansion, representing the only raid in the Dream Tier 03 raid tier. The Old God N'Zoth has grown the dark world tree Nharrdrassil within the very birthplace of the Emerald Dream, the enigmatic realm known as the Rift of Aln. The massive growth pours forth the influence of the Nightmare, threatening to not only overwhelm Azeroth, but countless worlds across the cosmos.

Background

The Emerald Dream is the very soul of Azeroth, the Final Titan and last hope of the cosmos. The Nightmare was planted into the Dream by the Old Gods in a millennia spanning plan to make Azeroth susceptible to their influence and corruption. Now, however, the Dream has provided a means for N'Zoth to realize an even grander ambition than twisting Azeroth to his will. Beyond the Dream lies an entire cosmos filled with worlds, all connected to the great cosmic tree Vrildrassil, whom shelters all worlds within its starry boughs. From Vrildrassil, all worlds and all dreams are grown, even worlds as glorious as Azeroth.

The one place in Azeroth where the cosmic tree Vrildrassil can be reached is within the Rift of Aln, the mysterious realm where the Emerald Dream first grew from. It is here in this enigmatic nexus-dimension that N'Zoth has planted his dark world tree, Nharrdrassil. Now the tainted roots of Nharrdrassil burrow into the heart of all the cosmos, seeking to infect great Vrildrassil with N'Zoth's power. The Old God will infest a million worlds with his Nightmare, plunging all life into a torment that will never end, and N'Zoth will rule forever the undisputed master of existence.
