Unstable Greater Truesteel Essences are what remains of Greater Truesteel Essences, which can no longer be crafted. Prior to Shadowlands, using this item "restored" it into a  [Truesteel Essence] and 25  [Sorcerous Fire].

The original version of this item, Greater Truesteel Essence, was crafted by blacksmiths with a skill level of 1. The recipe was learned from  [Recipe: Greater Truesteel Essence], which could be purchased from The Forge at Lunarfall or Frostwall, or from the blacksmithing vendor in Stormshield or Warspear.

  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.2.0 (2015-06-23): Renamed from Greater Truesteel Essence and given a new effect. No longer obtainable.
    Previous effect: Upgrades item level 655 Blacksmithing armor to 670.
  • Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.0.2 (2014-10-14): Added.
