Tidemistress Athissa is a general of Queen Azshara and Tidemistress of the Hatecoil naga. Queen Azshara, former leader of the ancient night elves, rules the naga with supreme authority. Her servants are many, but few can match the fanatical devotion of Athissa. At her queen's command, she is poised to lead a massive naga army into Azsuna, a region rumored to hold a long-lost titan relic of power. Nothing will stand between Athissa and this prize - not the cursed night elf spirits who haunt the land nor the Horde and Alliance forces that are gathering on the Broken Isles.[1]
Background
When the adventurers entered the Ruins of Nar'thalas, Athissa ordered the Hatecoil naga to find the [Tidestone of Golganneth], one of the titan Pillars of Creation. Short tempered, she questioned a ghost of the Court of Farondis to know the relic's location until she was interrupted by the hero. Tired of being bothered, she froze them and exclaimed that the Tidestone would be theirs as she teleported away.[2]
When the hero was able to collect the shattered remains of the relic at the Nar'thalas Academy, they were frozen by Athissa before they could bring them together. Alongside Warlord Parjesh, the sea witch took the hero as an acceptable slave while the Tidestone was prepared to be rebuilt by Queen Azshara.[3] Prince Farondis later came to assist the hero, following them closely, until he engaged Athissa and Parjesh at a stopping point. The Tidemistress nevertheless managed to escape with the Tidestone and said that she would warn the queen of this affront.[4]
During the final confrontation in Azsuna, Athissa held her ground as Parjesh took the shattered remains of the Tidestone of Golganneth to the Eye of Azshara. She was eventually killed while facing the hero, Prince Farondis, and the ghosts of the Nightwatchers.[5]
