The Warchief Awaits begins the War of the Thorns world event from the Horde perspective. This quest is offered automatically on login to players who have completed the Legion epilogue storyline, at least up through  [45] The Blood of Azeroth.

Upon arriving into the Royal Quarter of the Undercity, Sylvanas is surrounded by Horde leaders, Lor'themar Theron, Baine Bloodhoof, Jastor Gallywix, as well as Nathanos Blightcaller and Royal Dreadguards behind her. Sharlindra and Aleric Hawkins also turned to face Sylvanas while Bragor Bloodfist is absent.
