Transcript
Prelude
- Arthas, Kel'Thuzad, and the forces of the Scourge gather in front of the entrance to Dalaran.
- Arthas: Wizards of the Kirin Tor! I am Arthas, first of the Lich King's death knights! I demand that you open your gates and surrender to the might of the Scourge!
- Antonidas and two Knights ride up to greet the death knight.
- Antonidas: Greetings, Prince Arthas. How fares your noble father?
- Arthas: Lord Antonidas. There's no need to be snide.
- Antonidas: We've prepared for your coming, Arthas. My brethren and I have erected auras that will destroy any undead that pass through them.
- Antonidas swings his staff, and the auras in question become visible.
- Arthas: Your petty magics will not stop me, Antonidas.
- Antonidas: Pull your troops back, or we will be forced to unleash our full powers against you! Make your choice, death knight.
- Antonidas teleports himself and his Knights away.
- Kel'Thuzad: I sense that three separate wizards are maintaining these auras. If you find and kill them, the auras will disperse.
During the Mission
- Kel'Thuzad: The Kirin Tor keeps these creatures caged for studying. If they were to be released, they would cause our enemies a great deal of pain.
- Kel'Thuzad: The wizards keep many enchanted items within that vault. Shatter it, and we can use their own weapons against them.
Mission Complete
- Antonidas: It pains me to even look at you, Arthas.
- Arthas: I'll be happy to end your torment, old man. I told you that your magics could not stop me.
- Arthas kills Antonidas. He and Kel'Thuzad approach the Book of Medivh, which is hovering above a pedestal.
- Arthas: The spellbook is all yours, lich. Let's take it and leave before the wizards amass for their final attack.
- Kel'Thuzad: Indeed. I will begin summoning Lord Archimonde at sunset.
- Kel'Thuzad picks up the tome.

Notes
- In the Reforged remaster, the map has been significantly changed:
- In the intro cutscene, abominations destroy a tower instead of a meat wagon shooting at a farm. Antonidas teleports in with two water elementals instead of riding towards Arthas with two knights.
- The main quest's name, requirement, and description have been updated. The player is now tasked with killing three unnamed archmages (rather than two) before killing Antonidas.
- Archmage heroes who are objectives are fixed to be Conjurus Rex, Landazar, and Fordred Aran, and the one on the left corner remains randomized. They use various abilities and mechanics during the fight.
- Number of total archmage heroes present reduced from 6 to 5.
- Antonidas' fight is also more difficult, as he summons war golems, siege golems, and berserk elementals to assist him, rather than being supported by human units. His death quote in the original is instead used as a pre-battle statement.
- Archmage heroes who are objectives are fixed to be Conjurus Rex, Landazar, and Fordred Aran, and the one on the left corner remains randomized. They use various abilities and mechanics during the fight.
- The three human bases (and one outpost inaccessible to ground units) have been replaced with the Violet Council as the main attack force.
- New optional quest added - Violet Council. Description: Dalaran's elite council of nine is spread throughout the city summoning reinforcements, and guarding treasures. Crush them to ease your path to victory.
- There are nine Council Wizards that can be slain to gain access to the various vaults holding either resources or other Dalaran experiments.
- The player's non-undead reinforcements come in the form of three war golems, a Siege Golem, and one of a random set of possible units.
- On occasion, a wizard present in the Violet Hold will summon various prisoners to help attack the undead forces.
