Lor'themar Theron

Regent Lord of Quel'Thalas

After the fall of the blood elven prince Kael'Thas[sic] Sunstrider, cunning Lor'themar Theron became the bulwark of his broken race -- and the vanguard of their rebirth.

Under the command of Sylvanas Windrunner, the ranger Lor'themar Theron proudly defended the high elves in battle after battle. He led battle groups during the old Horde's invasion of Azeroth, through territorial disputes with the Amani trolls, and against the devastation wrought by the undead Scourge. When Sylvanas fell in combat and the high elves were decimated by Arthas's minions, Lor'themar fought to help the survivors regroup and regain some of their former glory. Determined to forge ahead, they re-christened themselves blood elves in honor of their fallen brethren. Lor'themar took on an administrative role as regent lord under his people's ruler, Prince Kael'thas Sunstrider, but it wasn't long before the still-weary elves discovered that Kael'thas was indebted to demonic entities. After helping to depose Kael'thas, Lor'themar remained de facto leader of the blood elves, many of whom now doubted whether they truly wanted to be ruled by a prince.

When the continent of Pandaria was discovered by Horde forces, Lor'themar and the blood elves were invited to help conquer the new land, but the sinister methods of Warchief Garrosh Hellscream led Lor'themar to reconsider his position. The regent lord initiated conversations with King Varian Wrynn, hoping to rejoin the Alliance, but Garrosh sabotaged his diplomatic efforts by organizing a heist in Darnassus and focusing blame on the blood elves. Now resigned to the eventuality of intra-factional war, Lor'themar awaits the right moment to rise up against Garrosh and restore the glory of his people.
