Tess Undertide is a Kul Tiran human first seen in the Darkmoon Faire on the Darkmoon Island. She had traveled to the island to learn the ways of warlocks from Madam Shadow and was learning from Madam Shadow's grimoire about summoning imps through ritual circles, but she kept failing, even with the assistance of Initiate Darkleaf. She briefly expressed doubts that she should have become a Tidesage, like her father. Later, with the other initiates, Tess was witnessing Madam Shadow's rituals. After Madam Shadow was revealed to be Lord Banehollow and the dreadlord was defeated, Tess met with the surviving initiates in Booty Bay in the Cape of Stranglethorn. She came to call herself imp slayer.
