Flame Leviathan

I applied it to the appropriate section on the Flame Leviathan article. Comments/edits appreciated. -Howbizr (talk) 13:58, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Should I have my {{Say}}?

Sorry, couldn't resist. Would it be inappropriate to create a template {{Say}} as short for {{Text|Say|...}}? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:13, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Inconvenient conflict: {{Talk}}. So similar to "Text" in many ways, even more so should Say, Yell, etc be implemented. Created {{Say}}, tested it on A [10-30] Last Rites. While it works, I do not yet judge if {{Say}} should exist. Convenient, yes. But given the existence of {{Talk}}, confusing? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 18:51, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
I think for maintenance reasons, just use {{Text}}. It's easier to maintain one template than n templates, for something as simple as colored text. If you agree, I'd flag {{Say}} for speedy delete. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 5:41 PM, 3 Jun 2009 (EDT)
Ah. You bring up the maintenance argument. I expect that the same test that was used for {{Reputation}} derivatives would be applied to Text. I will surrender the point. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 22:49, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

Please think about light/dark skins!

Main article: Forum:Text coloring

We need to avoid the situation of light yellow text on a white background.

Example: This is /say on a white background.

Notice how painful it is to read? Thus, I've created the classes text-say, text-emote, text-yell, text-whisper and duplicated blizztext as text-blizz.

Monobook Monaco
  • Say
  • Yell
  • Emote
  • Whisper
  • Blizz
  • Say
  • Yell
  • Emote
  • Whisper
  • Blizz

As soon as the caches update I intend to use the relevant classes in the template. The updated template will look like this:

<onlyinclude><span class="{{#switch:{{lc:{{{1}}}}}|say=text-say|yell=text-yell|emote=text-emote|whisper=text-whisper|blizz=text-blizz}}">{{{2|}}}</span></onlyinclude><noinclude>{{documentation}}</noinclude>

Comments? --k_d3 20:36, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

The whisper color on the white looks a tad hard to read, not impossible, but could be annoying for some. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 20:40, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
So we'll do {{yell=GOGOGO§}} to get GOGOGO§ ?
Rhapsodia (talk) 20:41, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Nah, you'll do the same {{text|<yell>|<GOGOGO!>}} that you're doing now. I'm just culling the manually-defined option. --k_d3 20:48, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Kd_3, I really like the work you did. I am only undoing the change because it broke generic coloration, which is being used on several pages. I took a stab at fixing it, but it didn't work. I'll let you sort that out, but I don't want all those other pages to be broken in the mean time, just for a skin most users don't use. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 9:23 PM, 6 Jul 2009 (EDT)
Sigh. Refixed. --k_d3 01:49, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
<3 Much appreciated. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 9:51 PM, 6 Jul 2009 (EDT)

Class colors

KD3, or someone else with access to the CSS - could we add these additional switches to the CSS? Here's my suggestion for the colors.

Class Color Monobook Color Monaco
Death Knight #C41E3B Death Knight Death Knight
Druid #FF7C0A Druid Druid
Hunter #AAD372 Hunter Hunter
Mage #68CCEF Mage Mage
Paladin #F48CBA Paladin Paladin
Priest gray Priest #FFFFFF Priest
Rogue rgb(204, 153, 0) Rogue #FFF468 Rogue
Shaman #2359FF Shaman Shaman
Warlock #9382C9 Warlock Warlock
Warrior #C69B6D Warrior Warrior

Thanks. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 12:57 PM, 11 Jul 2009 (EDT)

They're already there. Class "cc-mage" et al. --k_d3 15:43, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Yay. I just have a hard time with this because I can never figure out how to find "the style sheet." Whenever I inspect a page, there are about 7 or so being applied. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 8:19 PM, 12 Jul 2009 (EDT)
The only stylesheets you really need concern yourself with are MediaWiki:Common.css and MediaWiki:Monaco.css (or wowwiki/monobook et al). Common is where the light-background skin options are placed, and the dark-color overrides are in Monaco/wowwiki. --k_d3 20:44, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

CSS needed

I think we should probably add gem colors to the style sheet, so colors like yellow can be used safely. In particular Gem properties is probably the worst offender. If this is implemented in the template, let me know and I'll try to update the appropriate Jewelcrafting pages. /chomp‎ Howbizr(t·c) 1:47 PM, 7 Aug 2009 (EDT)

Same for the colors associated with skill levels. Particularly yellow is hard to see on a dark background. Orange is a bit flaky.

Emote

Could it be edited so that it doesnt include a space between the first word and the colon? Example: Azeroth's Last Hope --Mordecay (talk) 18:32, 3 October 2018 (UTC)

/bump --Mordecay (talk) 22:17, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
Okay, seems to be fixed now. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 03:00, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
