Guidelines

heya, do we have any guidelines anywhere for how gossip text should be presented? like what should be indented and how far, what should be bulleted, whether player responses should be italicized, etc. every time i go to add gossip text to a page i find i've forgotten half this stuff, eheh —Eithris (talk) 23:27, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

it's one of these situation where every editor makes it in a different way, leading to another editor later replacing it with his own twist, until the cycle begins anew Xporc (talk) 07:19, 17 September 2019 (UTC)
ye, that's part of why i ask q: every page i go to for guidance is different & i'm like, whatisthetruth.gif —Eithris (talk) 18:22, 17 September 2019 (UTC)

For what it's worth, the way I typically go about it is:

Header
First indent for quote
First gossip option
First response
Second gossip

And so on. Obligatory disclaimers: Doesn't work for every situation, different users do different ways, etc. -- Alayea (talk / contrib) 18:42, 17 September 2019 (UTC)

Text rare quest

Gossip (Quest) You're safe now. Did Wrathion leave a message for me?

Looks like it is now in past content as well. Would it be possible to edit this template to something simpler than the above and do something like {{Gossip|quest=1|You're safe now. Did Wrathion leave a message for me?}} and we would automatically get the "(Quest)" part? --HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 20:39, 26 July 2023 (UTC)
