It would be nice if we could do an array to compare the current level to the one after level scaling is implemented Xporc (talk) 17:12, 10 December 2017 (UTC)

Also add it in the "patch changes" section of each impacted zone :p Xporc (talk) 20:52, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
I'm cleaning this page to make it better. About all the patch changes... that's going to be a funny work to do :D --Ryon21 (talk) 20:54, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
What you want me to put in the patch zone scaling? Like I did in Silithus#Patch changes is ok?--Ryon21 (talk) 21:20, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
Yeah. Could you just add something like "level scaling implemented, zone level was previously xx-xx"? Xporc (talk) 21:25, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
Yep, I could. --Ryon21 (talk) 21:32, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
Greaaat! Xporc (talk) 22:18, 16 January 2018 (UTC)

All zones have patch changes added except from:

  • All done. Thanks for participating :D

If anyone could go in-game to these zones and tell me the level, that'd be awesome. Since I'm not currently playing WoW :/ Also, if I've missed to add the patch change to any zone I'd be thankful if you tell me. If there is a zone not in the list of the Zone scaling, add it to it :) --Ryon21 (talk) 18:42, 17 January 2018 (UTC)

Would the number that shows up on the map when hovering with the cursor over an area be enough?
Hrothgar's Landing is 67 - 80
Tol Barad 84 - 85
Tol Barad Peninsula 85
Isle of Giants 85 90
The rest needs to be checked in the game. --Mordecay (talk) 19:03, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for your efforts! Xporc (talk) 19:38, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
Ahn'Qiraj doesn't have a level bracket. There are no mobs and quests, just two raid portals. Moonglade is similar, containing quests of various levels and no mobs that don't already scale to the level of the quest they're there for. Ruins of Gilneas, as well, is unlikely to scale as its only used for Silverpine Forest quests and is otherwise empty. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 19:48, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
Technically the Ruins of Gilneas should scale the same as Silverpine then? Xporc (talk) 20:03, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
That's not the zone itself scaling, though. That's quest mobs from Silverpine scaling. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:21, 17 January 2018 (UTC)

Ruins of Gilneas is not empty once the Silverpine Forest storyline is completed, it's actually full of life in certain areas. Mobs scale to level 60 (elite worgen even have level 62). EDIT: That is for Horde. For the Alliance there are no worgen or humans only hounds and foxes that scale to level 60. --Mordecay (talk) 18:38, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

I'd guess then is a 10 - 60 zone. What number it shows in the map? --Ryon21 (talk) 18:52, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
There is no number on the map. --Mordecay (talk) 18:54, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

Also Deadwind Pass is missing from the list, level 55 - 56 now and before the scaling on the map. --Mordecay (talk) 19:02, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

Okay. Thanks for everything ;) --Ryon21 (talk) 19:17, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for the work! --Mordecay (talk) 19:24, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

Name

has the term "zone scaling" been used officially? patch 7.3.5 called it the "level scaling system" —Eithris (talk) 19:48, 2 November 2019 (UTC)

Maybe this? --Mordecay (talk) 19:52, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
ahh, so yeah it is official. i do think "level scaling" would be more obvious, though. more... what one would expect the term to be? and of course "zone scaling" could still be mentioned as a term for it —Eithris (talk) 20:00, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
it seems they've introduced another term specifically for the current form of scaling: "level bands"/"level banding," mentioned during the Deep Dive panel and seen here under "The Future of Leveling." so i guess when shadowlands happens, maybe we could use that for a section with info on the 7.3.5 to 9.0 version —Eithris (talk) 20:42, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
