Reputation?

While you can get reputation with these, are there any benefits? Do someone know anything? Needs some research atleast. --Ragowit 18:15, 2 Jul 2005 (EDT)

Trying to get my reputation up with these to find out if there are any benefits. But it's gowing slow, killing a troll gives you 1point and turning in the quest with necklaces gives you 2points.

Recommended level

I'm currently grinding the 40-ish trolls in hinterlands at lvl 45-46 and I'm getting 5 rep/mob and 25 rep/hand-in. So if you want to reach honored with these, I recommend you to start as soon as you can and not wait until lvl 60. --Wolbur 07:29, 11 Feb 2006 (EST)

Wildhammers and the blood elves

hey I was just wondering with the blood elves joining the horde and all and with the very old and powerful friendships between them and the wildhammer dwarves is it not a possibility this could cause them to open there doors to horde players as well once enough reputation has been earned? They have a kinship with High Elves, not Blood Elves, though. Blood Elves are very different and would most likely be regarded as 'evil' by the Wildhammer dwarves -- Kirkburn 10:19, 19 June 2006 (EDT)

Shamanism

Hey, I just read on (gurk) wikipedia that the Wildhammer Dwarves followed a shamanistic faith. I haven't played WCII in a while, not have I read any external lore, and my character is only 30-ish, so I'm ignorant as to factuality of this claim. Can anyone confirm?

There's nothing in-game about it, but it is suggested from the RPG books. It wouldn't be the same as the 'horde version', of course -- Kirkburn 00:09, 19 July 2006 (EDT)

Yeah Wildhammers practice Shaminism.

Their isn't exactly a "Horde version" of Shamanism, I don't really know what you mean. Jungle Troll shamanism is more similiar to other Troll's shamanism than Orcish Shamanism, how does that count as a collective "Horde version"? Saimdusan

Technically speaking, every shaman based race has different shamninisms. Here is what I would guess shamanisims would be.

Orc: African Shamanism Troll: Polynesian Shamanism Wildhammer: European/Irish Paganism Tauren: Suix Shamanism Drainei: (have no idea) Acjpb 04:57, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

I would tend to agree with Acjpb here (although I think Trolls could fit African, Polynesian and Caribbean shamanisms), and I don't know what "Suix" means (native American, I assume). As the evidence suggests, most of the Draenei race derives from the Greek people, and the ancient Greeks are well-known for their thunder-worshipping and elementalist beliefs (and not even speaking about all their gods and spirits)=>interestingly an European paganism, as for the Dwarves, another Alliance race.--K ) (talk) 09:21, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

In the Old Ironforge there's a whole area called the Hall of Thanes, and Muradin Bronzebeard was a Mountain King, thus a Thane.--Kirochi 02:45, 14 September 2006 (EDT)

Patch 2.0

Edit: After Patch 2.0 you now recieve 25 Reputation for 5 Necklace turn in. Elites No longer give you 5 rep per kill, they give you 1 rep per kill. . I have started to make my way to exalted and estimate a 100 hr grind time to gain the 4000 necklaces neccessary.

Seems that as of patch 2.0.3 this rep has followed that of the Raventush Trolls and has been removed... I guess it makes sence lore-wise to say that they are now more apt to help the Alliance since the Dark Portal is opened and they can make contact with their lost brethren... oh well =( -- Reyz 16:54, 11 January 2007 (EST)

Wildhammer Stronghold in Shadowmoon Valley doesn't have a faction, so don't think that's it. It just seems that a few people kept the Wildhammers in their lists while others have lost it. In addition to the rep being gone, the Necklaces (for the repatable quest) are labeled as "Quest item" and thus soulbound, in addition, the repeatable quest is also gone, I hope its a bug, but it seems not, seems blizz decided to remove the faction. --Reyz 01:07, 13 January 2007 (EST)

Random hypothesis (nothing special)

The wildhammers are taller then their ironforge cousins and are less "Earthen" like.

Perhaps in the human origins hypothesis, this could be a step along the path of becomming taller and losing interest/connection with the titan past.

Druids

Is it possible they could have picked up druidism from the High Elves? I mean they do have druid-magi and rangers. Mr.X8 21:42, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

I don't think there is any information that dwarves have ever been druids. The source given has no information on them whatsoever. I'll be removing that tidbit. Jaegera (talk) 02:53, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

Travelled to Kalimdor to combat the Horde?

I just noticed that in the "Region" section it says: "Though cool to humans and to Ironforge dwarves, many Wildhammers traveled to Kalimdor with Jaina Proudmoore to combat the Horde.". I know it says it was taken form the Alliance Player's Guide, but I still find that part to be out of place. WoWWiki-Durendal 20:11, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

I seem to recall that Jaina and Thrall are trying to uphold the peace between the Horde and Alliance. And the only Alliance dwarves I've seen on Kalimdor are the Explorer's League and Bael'Dun dwarves. Also, the Alliance Player's Guide is a fairly biased book. Eman91 22:20, 25 June 2008 (UTC)Eman91

Split into the Wildhammer dwarf and Wildhammer clan page

Similar to the debate with Frostborn, who should be made into Frostborn and Frost dwarf, the Wildhammer dwarves need their own, separated, page. Not all Wildhammer dwarves are loyal to the Wildhammer clan, with some being part of the Twilight's Hammer. If any Wildhammer appear in other factions as well there's no way of differentiating them into their own factions / talking about it since this page only addresses the clan as if it encompasses their entire race. --Berenal (talk) 04:31, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

Depending in which other faction they are doesn't mean they left the clan. For example, the ones in the Earthern Ring are all still part of the clan. And where are the Wildhammers part of the Twilight's Hammer? --Ryon21 (talk) 08:11, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
