Do you think Sapphiron is dead?

Hmm, do you think Sapphiron is dead now after Naxx, lorewise? Kel'Thuzad's phylactry has mysteriously disappeared, so we'll probably be seeing him again soon enough, but what about Sapphiron? Or would Blizzard leave all bosses the same when Naxx is back in Northrend? Berry2K 13:58, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

I've wondered much about about how Naxx II would be implemenmted. Same kinda thing, either the bosses are all revived (though humanoid/undead classifications would be messed with and that significatly would change the fights) or that new bosses (new names/chars) that act exactly like the old would be implemented. KT seems to be the obvious end boss, the others who knows. i do believe there have been cases of multiple revival though. Necromancies rules don;t seem to be set entirely in stone.Warthok 19:30, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

Anyone else think that the wyrm in the WotLK cinematic is Sapphiron? --TheSecretArts (talk) 00:28, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

The identify of the dragon is currently DNP. However i will assure you, it's not Sapphiron.Warthok Talk Contribs 05:27, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

How is it DNP? CogHammer.gif Ose talk/3721 13:08, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Information is known, but A) hasn't been officially released and B) is next to nothing. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 13:10, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

I'm sure Sapphiron could just be raised again. Necromancers usually put charms onto their risen undead, and unless the charm is destroyed, they can just reanimate them again and again and again.

Well, check out Naxx 2.0, Sapphiron is back... so it technically could be him... TheSecretArts (talk) 14:49, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Take a look at Image:WorldMap-IcecrownGlacier.jpg. See anything fammiliar? Sindragosa's fall perhaps? Now tell me how his bones traveled from Naxxramas to beneath a glacier in Icecrown Tongueout.gif. CogHammer.gif Ose talk/3721 15:17, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Name

Sapphiron is the only blue dragon whose name doesn't end with "gos" or "gosa". Don't all blue dragons follow this naming pattern?--WoWWiki-Odolwa (talk) 19:07, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Check this list Blue dragonflight#Known members, there are others without that pattern. Benitoperezgaldos (talk) 19:16, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
The -gos(a), -strasz(a), and -ormu/i endings are guidlines. Blues are just as likely to have names referencing shades of blue or blue gems and bronzes also have names referencing time. --Ragestorm (talk · contr) 22:03, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the replies! It all makes sense now.--WoWWiki-Odolwa (talk) 11:23, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Reforged concept art

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but where is it stated that File:Reforged - Blue Dragon concept.jpg and File:Reforged - Frost Wyrm concept.jpg depict Sapphiron and not just generic blue dragons and frost wyrms? --IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male.gif DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 22:28, 27 December 2020 (UTC)

He has a unique models for both his blue dragon and frost wyrm appearances:
The concepts are for the Sapphiron unique appearances. Mrforesttroll (talk) 22:42, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
personally, i feel a little iffy on saying "this concept art is for X" without official/artist confirmation. it could just as well have been a generic concept, and that concept ultimately became sapphiron. i think i'd prefer just showing his in-game models directly —Eithris (talk) 23:22, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
Whether it was initially for Sapphiron or ended up being concept for the Sapphiron model, it is concept art for Sapphiron. Mrforesttroll (talk) 23:51, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
http://wow.blizzgame.ru/assets/Warcraft-Gallery/Frost-Wyrm-Warcraft-III-Remastered-by-Alexei-Konev.jpg - here is the regular frost wyrm concept art. Mrforesttroll (talk) 23:58, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
ahh. i change my mind then, that's evidence enough for me. —Eithris (talk) 03:00, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
