Hippos and Riverbeasts

BFA is adding hippos that more resemble the real life hippo, so should we have them and riverbeasts on the same page or separate pages? ReignTG (talk) 01:55, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

Separate pages, as they're pretty clearly different species. I mean we have separate pages for seal, lion seal and sea lion. I think in the case of spiders, wolves, panthers, etc. that exist on both Draenor and Azeroth, they're a little different as they're specifically the same creature, just adapted to different environments (which gets into the whole "Titan seed race" theory), but hippos and riverbeasts appear to be pretty different from one another. I think just a header at the top of this page with a link to the Azeroth hippo, and a header at the top of the hippo page with a link to the Draenor riverbeast will do fine. Per this, this, and this, it looks like Azeroth hippos are actually predominantly called "riverbeasts" as well (because I guess it was too much effort for Blizzard to come up with a new name). Does that warrant a change in how we should approach this? I'm thinking we could either have separate pages in the form of Riverbeast (Draenor) and Riverbeast (Azeroth), or just handle it like the kraken page; have both creatures on the same page, with separate sections for Draenic and Azerothian variants. -- DeludedTroll (talk • contribs) 08:22, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
