Keystone sounds

I've come to realize that every time you pick up a keystone, there is a voice or soundfile that plays, seems to be a voice to me. Definitely need to start keeping track of those.--Mondoblasto (talk) 04:51, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

I have put many hours into archaeology over the past month, and I've never heard any sound other than the standard looting sound that always plays when picking up a find. I'll look into it, but those whispers you're "hearing" might not be from the game... haha! --Eincrou (talk) 07:16, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
HOLY @#$%! You're right! I got a voice saying "Kill them all... before they kill you," when I looted a Highborne Scroll. I haven't done much archaeology over the past week, maybe they added the voices in the last round of hotfixes on the 6th. --Eincrou (talk) 07:32, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
I know right?? Creepy as hell too! I just added to the article, but I heard C'Thun's "Your heart will explode". I checked the C'Thun sound file, and it's pretty much the same, if it actually is done by another voice actor or whatnot. The ones we heard are both C'Thun, but I wonder what other quotes there are.--Mondoblasto (talk) 07:52, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
It just occured to me that perhaps for the moment, contributers can post here on where and what kind of keystone they found, along with their whisper. There might or might not be some correlation to them, who knows. Wetlands, Thandol span, dwarf. Your heart will explode.--Mondoblasto (talk) 08:11, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Hammertoe's Digsite, Badlands, dwarf. You are already dead.--Mondoblasto (talk) 08:46, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
My latest one is Whelgar's Excavation Site, Wetlands, dwarf, but this time it's from Yogg-Saron. So it seems it doesn't matter what type of keystone or who does the whisper.--Mondoblasto (talk) 00:13, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
Okay, turns out it's a auto checked feature in DBM. I wish they put a note about it or something... now I feel like a complete jackass.--Mondoblasto (talk) 06:56, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
lol, those bastards! --Eincrou (talk) 07:56, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Hmm... I was going to say you all must be crazy... Cause I never heard anything. =P Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 08:22, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Now that we know what it was, I would remove the DBM Whispers section, Mondo. It was a clever trick that fooled us, but I don't think it should be a part of the article. We don't say that DBM causes "Run away, little girl!" to play when standing in the sun beam on the High Prophet Barim page, and I don't think we need to. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Eincrou (talk · contr).
Indeed, I concur.--Mondoblasto (talk) 06:25, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Required, or just available?

Do you have to use the keystones, or are they just something you can use when they're available? Is there any advantage to hanging onto them? --Azaram (talk) 01:05, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Keystones are always optional. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 01:13, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
One reason to hang on to (some particular of) them: There are Optional quests in cataclysm dungeons that require a keystone of a particular type, granting that group a buff for as long as the group is in the dungeon. This buff can be handy when running an instance with a marginal group. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:28, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
