Kargath≠Azog

This piece of "trivia" that keeps coming up is chronologically unsound at best. The only resemblance between the two characters is the missing hand. WoD is in many ways material from Warcraft 2: Beyond the Dark Portal being revisited, and Kargath first appeared with his prosthetic in 1996. Kargath later appears in Burning Crusade with his hands replaced. Even this appearance predates the movies by years. The re-imagined Azog in the movies is not canon, so if anything his appearance is drawn from Kargath's. --Balegore (talk) 21:02, 15 April 2014 (UTC)

Bio

At Gamecon, it is stated in a new series Lords of War that he was born a slave of ogres, joined the arena under the promise that 100 kills would grant him freedom. Once he did, he was returned to his pen. He cut his hand with a sharp rock and suggested the other orcs to do the same. After a victorious rebellion, the Shattered Hand clan was born.

Shall we consider this to be the Bio only for this version of Kargath or for the Prime version too ?

My guess is that his enslavement took place before Garrosh's arrival so it should apply also for MU Kargath.--Mordecay (talk) 17:19, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
I'd have to agree, and it's possible all the Lords of War stories will be the same way. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 17:59, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
It is not possible. It is certain: Lords of War is narrated by Maraad to Varian, recalling MU Draenor's chieftains. At least we now know that most (if not all) of the alleged "personality changes" are retcons/worldbuilding. Unholy Cemotucu (talk contribs) 19:33, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
There is absolutely no doubt that this applies to both Kargaths. Maraad would have no way of knowing about the WoD version. ReignTG (talk) 20:18, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
And now Micky Neilson confirms: https://twitter.com/MickyNeilson/status/500112918566809600 ReignTG (talk) 02:59, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
In the Spanish wowpedia we added the Lord of Wars text into the main Kargath article, not in his Warlords of Draenor bio. Totally agree with Cemotucu. --Petrovic (talk) 10:07, 21 August 2014 (UTC)
