Name

From what I have read in Warcraft III, they are called/spelled "survivors of Lordaeron" and are essentially the Human Expedition, not a group within the Human Expedition. Rolandius (talk - contr) 02:47, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

I've checked all missions of the orc campaign where the humans appear and none are named like this. It's like Rolandius said, they are the Human Expedition and not a group within. I agree with Rolandius and Benitoperezgaldos, played the missions myself on both the Orc and Night elf missions, so it's safe to assume they are the human expedition. (talk)

Part of the Great Alliance

I have read the notes. Just because the name can not be correct it doesn't mean that the Great Alliance didn't existed.Gabrirt (talk · contributions) 19:01, 18 July 2016 (UTC)

Survivor implications

We have the statement that "It was originally implied in Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and in the original Warcraft: The Roleplaying Game book that the Expedition was most, if not all, of the survivors of the Eastern Kingdoms." I completely agree with this, but a vibe can not be sourced. Then, we have things that contradict this vibe that can be sourced. Those things obviously trump the implication, but I do not think the contradictions really stared until WoW. Kael and Garithos did not have much going for them. They were survivors, but only barely (except for that one giant nameless city that Garithos had for one mission). Somewhere, the state of things was confirmed with Proudmoore, but we do not currently have a citation for this. WoW is where Stormwind and Ironforge (even Lordaeron as far north as Hillsbrad) showed up as intact. At what point did "there were stragglers that the demons and undead missed" turn into "Jaina actually only brought a small percentage of people"?--SWM2448 20:10, 2 April 2017 (UTC)

Well, I have the original Warcraft RPG under my eyes if you want. Page 31 says "The Scourge and the Burning Legion all but destroyed the civilizations of Lordaeron and had almost finished the job on Kalimdor." It also says the human expedition are fully comitted to settle Kalimdor because there's so little to return to back home. The TFT manual says: "The human survivors of Lordaeron, under the command of the Sorceress Jaina Proudmoore, have also settled along the eastern cost of the Barrens. The island citadel of Theramore was erected to safeguard the ragtag remnants of the failing human Alliance."

Alliance of Lordaeron

I know that the Human Expedition came from Lordaeron and are the remnants of the Alliance of Lordaeron but wasn't the Alliance destroyed when Arthas unleashed the Plague on the continent? So technically they weren't affiliated to the Alliance of Lordaeron since it had been destroyed no? Wouldn't they'd be part of new the Grand Alliance instead? --Ryon21 (talk) 16:26, 18 December 2017 (UTC)

The Alliance of Lordaeron split into various subgroups and remnants, which were still fighting (with dwarves and high elves in their ranks) long after the Human Expedition left for Kalimdor. Xporc (talk) 16:33, 18 December 2017 (UTC)

Well, there is a "Human Expedition" as a minor group. But for the whole thing... maybe Survivors of Lordaeron or Alliance Expedition? I really don't know. No need. Just playing Warcraft III reveals that it is the name of the human faction Kalimdor, like the orcish one is called Orcish Horde. I don't know what the fuss was all about. Xporc (talk) 22:32, 21 September 2018 (UTC)
