After May 2007

Have there been any hotfixes since that time? I believe there has; why wouldn't anyone update this? --ENG (talk) 14:23, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

HELLO??!! SOMEONE here has gotta know! --ENG (talk) 10:03, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

In the spirit of a wiki: {{sofixit}}. However, Blizzard haven't been collating posts about hotfixes for a while - it's more difficult to keep track of atm. Kirkburn  talk  contr 10:52, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Collation

This page has been around since 2007. I don't see any links to past hotfixes, other than via the page history. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 23:36, February 12, 2010 (UTC)

You can find all the information about Hotfixes by following this link: http://www.wowwiki.com/Hotfixes —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gfxlight55 (talk · contr).
No, you can't. Hotfixes have been around probably since the beginning of the game, yet Hotfixes only shows those enacted in the last couple of months. So where is the archive of those previous, undisplayed hotfixes? --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 19:22, February 15, 2010 (UTC)
Link's on the main page at the bottom. Hotfix archives. Resa1983 (talk) 19:42, February 15, 2010 (UTC)
Apparently I missed that navbar... every single time I've visited the page. Apologies. --Eirik Ratcatcher (talk) 21:40, February 15, 2010 (UTC)

Undocumented hotfix changes

Is there any place to put undocumented changes made in a hotfix? I ask this because of a major change that came with the April 28, 2014 hotfix. It covers Burning Crusade raids and dungeons. (see Did blizz nerf trash drops in all old raids?)

Summary: Blizzard attempted to deal with exploits and game abuse (generally bots) by normalizing the drop rate for trash items, just like for the gold obtained from old raid bosses. This did not sit well because it was too heavy-handed for "innocent" players. They reverted the change in today's maintenance and "replaced it with an approach that should have zero impact on legitimate players." (But they will make changes in Warlords.)

I'm not sure what that "approach" is exactly, but I have noticed one change:  [Heart of Darkness]'s vendor value has been reduced to only a quarter of its original value. -- Alayea (talk / contrib) 22:05, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

Document it the way we handle undocumented patch changes:
{{hotfix|date=2014-05-05|note=Undocumented change.|comment=What actually changed goes here.}}

OK, thank you. -- Alayea (talk / contrib) 06:52, 8 May 2014 (UTC)

The blue note

Regarding {{Hotfix}}, I can't see any reason to keep highlighting hotfixes on pages using |bluenote. I assume at one point hotfixes were posted on forums, where they were therefore highlighted in blue? Since at least 2010 all patch and hotfix notes have been posted in blogs, and neither have been blue, just regular text colour. I therefore propose we abandon the "patch notes in white, hotfixes in Blizzard blue" scheme; it's meaningless and also highlights hotfixes above and beyond patch notes, giving the impression that they are more important, when they are in fact usually less so. I can't see any reason to highlight one and not the other. -- Taohinton (talk) 19:26, 1 November 2014 (UTC)
