Ebon Blade

Ok, the page on Knights of the Ebon Blade said they are freed of the Lich King's power. This page says they are sent by him?  Rolandius Wc3Knight.gif (talk - contr) 09:53, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Both are accurate. They were not freed until after the Lich King sent them there. - Tuhljin (talk) 01:34, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Okay so they were sent by him. Afterwards, they somehow become free cool.  Rolandius Wc3Knight.gif (talk - contr) 01:35, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Check out the quest N Death Knight [8-30] The Light of Dawn. The quest dialogue explains how he goes from Scourge to free man. --Joshmaul (talk) 16:49, 20 July 2008 (UTC)

Undeath?

Undead? Not all death knights are undead, Arthas is one of the best examples. Darion does not seem to be undead, he just seems to be like various members of the scourge, humans (or other races) that gave into the temptations of the dark. It even SAYS it. Hell the player isnt a undead they just gave into the temptations (unless you rolled a undead dk ofcourse xD). I think he shouldnt be listed as human (Undead). --Whitedragon254 (talk) 03:30, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
He actually mentions his own cause of death in N Death Knight [8-30] Taking Back Acherus. He apparently stabbed himself with the Ashbringer to liberate his father's spirit. Going by the fact Alexandros didnt came back in wotlk's naxx, i think it worked. Amirw (talk) 11:20, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

All death knights become undead over a period of time. I think it's something about dark energies converting them or something, I'm not really sure. Think it said that on the Frostmourne article. Toran Wildpaw of the Frenzyheart (talk) 23:35, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

I think that Arthas is also undead, because he may have died in the cold of Northrend, because he was all by himself for a really long time... Malfurion Stormrage (talk) 11:31, 9 March 2009 (No idea)

Redirect

This article needs to appear at Darion Mograine, not Highlord Darion Mograine. WW:NCA is pretty clear about this. His first and last name are known, therefore no title should be included in the article name. This is why we have Alexandros Mograine rather than Highlord Alexandros Mograine, Renault Mograine rather than Scarlet Commander Renault Mograine, Saidan Dathrohan rather than Grand Crusader Saidan Dathrohan, etc. --Tyrsenus t c 02:15, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Done, but next time do not copy the content directly from the original article. That way the page history will stay. g0urra[T҂C] 09:23, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Early Hint of Existence?

Hanging out at Light's Hope Chapel, and watching the conversation at the inn, Dawnbringer mentions "It was your leadership that manipulated a grieving child to try to recover the sword. A child that has grown into a man with nothing but vengeance and hatred in his heart! And for what? You are no closer to the sword now than you were five years ago." Having read the questline and dialogue of the deathknight it hit me: This uncannily describes Darion Mograine. The great love of a son that would lead to great grief and bad decisions, a son considered too young to stand with his father in battle, and who would have more vengeance and hated in their heart than a deathknight? Of course any mention of this would be under a Speculation note.--Mondoblasto (talk) 05:31, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

It still could be Renault, he was manipulated by Kel'thuzad and Balnazzar (the latter leading the Crusade at the time) to atleast kill Alexandros. I doubt the scourge getting hold of the Ashbringer was in balnazzar's planning and hence "you are no closer to the sword now...". But i should digress, i actually hope its Darion myself since it makes it cooler, and yet i wouldnt include it as a speculation without mentioning the possibility that its Renault. Amirw (talk) 11:13, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Darion was part of the Argent Dawn, the Crusade had no control over (to manipulate) him. --N'Nanz (talk) 09:16, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
By the time this conversation was implemented, the character Darion Mograine wasn't even invented. The fact they say "Mograine's second son is located in Outland" supports this. Oberscht (talk) 03:51, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Age?

If Darion is younger than Renault, that leaves me with two questions: One, how old - exactly - is Darion? Renault was probably no more than nineteen by the time WoW started, if he was 15 when he became a paladin after the Third War. Given the fact that Renault is probably dead by this point, and time passes a bit slower than RL (evidently, it's only been two years since WoW or whatever), Darion is at least a year younger than Renault. (By the gods, the Ebon Blade is ruled by a KID?)

Secondly - if the kids weren't even ten years old by the time of the Alliance Expedition (and, as implied by Fairbanks, there are only the two boys)...how did any of them even set foot on Draenor, let alone fight in that war? I think somebody's DEFINATELY been asleep at the wheel here. --Joshmaul (talk) 08:23, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

There's always the possibility that Mograine had a third son. Fairbanks never specifically said that there were only two sons (although, like you said, he does seem to imply there are only two sons). Toran Wildpaw of the Frenzyheart (talk) 03:10, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

The Ashbringer comic makes it quite clear that Darion and Renault are the only two sons of Alexandros Mograine. As far as the Outland thing, Blizzard probably changed their minds after that dialogue was written. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 03:59, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
Or he traveled from Outland to Northrend. LOL Rolandius Paladin.gif (talk - contr) 04:34, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
On The Battle for the Light's Hope Chapel, Alexandros stats Darion "are barely of age to hold a sword", it seems he is under 19, because at the the of 19, men can join the Silver Hand, like Arthas did. Pudim17 (talk) 15:22, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

If he is "barely of age to hold a sword" that means he is 19, because barely means that he just now became 19... Malfurion Stormrage (talk) 11:31, 15 March 2009 (No idea)

Expansion

I've just gotten my hands on the first issue of the Ashbringer series, and I thought I'd expand a bit on Darion's article. The article, in my opinion, isn't particularly well-formatted at the moment, but that's probably only because we don't know too much about Darion yet (or if we learn more about him in the expansion than is revealed in the DK start quests, I haven't heard it). Anyway, I wasn't quite sure if this addition breaks the "flow" of the article, or if my citation was sufficient - never worked with citations before on WoWWiki. J

Just thought I'd explain myself. --Flyspeck (talk) 06:52, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Biography

The biography section is VERY poorly written with countless spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. However, I haven't read the comic so I can't really re-write the section of this page myself. I was wondering if there was any who can?

I read all the Ashbringer comics and have done the Death Knight starting area quest line. I haven't gotten to the Argent Crusade stuff in Icecrown yet, where Darion appears as the Ebon Watcher, so I didn't try to write it. Welcome all.

Sound Files

Can anyone tell me the Sound files for his quotes? --"The Scourge shall prevail!" - Scourge-Lord Morec (talk) 23:16, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Biography rewrite?

I'm just wondering, after reading some of the biography section, if it is need of a rewrite. For instance, most of this section seems to be written in the present tense: "The spirit of Alexandros Mograine then appears from the Ashbringer, beheading his traitor son and forgiving him afterward" and also "Kel'Thuzad makes comment on how he is fine sacrificing his forces". I think, to remain consistent with other character articles, it should be changed to that of the past tense. I'm wondering if anyone agrees? Warchiefthrall (talk) 21:54, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Be bold. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 22:00, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Okay, lol :D I'll take that as a yes then. Warchiefthrall (talk) 22:02, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, that was me. Its how I wrote the article and most things. I had just read the Ashbringer series for the second time, and edited it over a period of two and a half hours. Maybe three. Anyway, I liked it. If you want to re-arrange it, its all good. Tri-Skeith (talk) 19:12, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
