Talk:Chen Stormstout

Chen means "Dust/Dirt/Earth" in Chinese a interesting note I think since he travels the Barrens, and such.

- (commenting with no intent on bubble bursting) "can mean" by pronunciation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chen_(surname) has more on it, and it doesn't mean dust. Rei-gouki (talk) 15:19, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Eyes

How come all of a sudden the Pandaren pictures such as Chen's have glowing green eyes? The earlier pictures of them have them having brown eyes. Mr.X8 03:06, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Glowing eyes? What are you talking about?Swiftstar 17:10, 1 December 2007 (UTC)Siwftstar

The only pic I've seen like that is the main one on this page, and in that one EVERYTHING is glowing green...Aliron 01:18, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

With Brewfest in full swing, and the Pandaren Monk now present in the current patch, could we see an appearance of Chen in WoW? User:Reacheround/Sig 01:34, September 23, 2009 (UTC)

Chen's origin.

I'm not sure where the confusion is regarding Chen's birth on the Wandering Isle and the Brewery being on Pandaria. It explains that "Uncle" Gao has been running it, which means there's been a Stormstout on Pandaria for years. Chen's parents could have easily been on the Isle when he was born, and still have family on Pandaria. That would explain his niece. Aenwyrm (talk) 07:49, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

Added?

On WoWWiki (which I do not take as a serious source...)i found: "WotLK Patch 3.2.2 (2009-09-22): Added, but does not appear in-game." Is it true? --Mordecay (talk) 08:54, 17 June 2012 (UTC)

Technically his name was added in 3.2.2 --> http://www.wowhead.com/npc=36912 , but his model didn't exist. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 01:14, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
Such things have existed since launch. Garona Halforcen, Jarod Shadowsong...--SWM2448 01:35, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
The Chen added in Wrath was the placeholder NPC Blizzard needed to send you the  [Pandaren Monk].--LemonBaby (talk) 05:37, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
I see, thanks. --Mordecay (talk) 12:42, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

In cinematic?

So? Is that pandaren in cinematic Chen? --Mordecay (talk) 20:26, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

Zarhym says it is. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 20:37, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
And the human and orc? Taylor and Nazgrim or some unknown? --Mordecay (talk) 21:57, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
Not even close. Yeah, the Human looks like Taylor but the orc...not so much. Good try. --Darksora110 (talk) 5:07, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
No word on whether they're named or just generic units. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 23:33, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
I would've say they're just generic

Yes, but people on some forums are telling that they are Nazgrim and Taylor... i am like wtf, guyz? At first, when i saw the orc, i thought that it is Nazgrim, but then I had a better look at both of them and no. They are definitely not the same. Chen at least has similarity.--Mordecay (talk) 09:12, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
From french forums "the new class balance is perfectly explained in the new cinematic"

Relationship with Yalia

Should we put Yalia Sagewhisper as his lover in the "relatives" section? Chen confessed to her, promised he would be back and open a brewery to be close to her once the Darkspear Rebellion was over, so I think its safe to say they are currently an item. Brewfest

Some time ago I moved the brewfest section under the Frozen Throne section based on this: "Deciding the recipe needed further work, Chen put his brewing aside for the time being and joined Rexxar and Rokhan on their adventures during the founding Durotar. Years later, Chen would incite the creation of Brewfest!" It´s from his hots page. But the very same page also says: "Chen's wanderlust led him into adventure after adventure, from the creation of the wildly popular Brewfest event to the very founding of Durotar, where he fought along with the re-formed Horde to establish it in its new home." And until now I wasn´t aware of this: https://twitter.com/MickyNeilson/status/304385342440603648 So where should the section be put? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mordecay (talk · contr).

I think the author has more autority than whoever wrote the HEROES' page. But that's my opinion.Unholy Cemotucu (talk contribs) 03:07, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
I realize this post is years old, but in my personal opinion I'd say there is more evidence that it happened after the Founding of Durotar. Neilson's tweet does just say that it "most likely" was a bit before the attack on Theramore, not that it was definitely before, and I don't think the HotS article's "from the creation of Brewfest to the founding of Durotar" necessarily implies that one of those happened after the other, just that they were both notable events that happened at some point. -- IconSmall TrollDeathKnight Male.gif DeludedTroll (talkcontribs) 15:06, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
