Northrend

Me wonders if we'll end up seeing his ghost in northrend ... hmm... Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 21:07, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

That was said for meny of the people who were with him too. Who knows? Do not put it on the page, it was removed before.--SWM2448 21:10, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
If your lucky we'll run into an entire uncorrupted offshoot of the Crusade who has lost the ships supposed to ferry them home.. -Rovdyr 10:30, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Considering the new Scarlet Crusade camp in Northrend with the expansion, we might see him or his followers there. g0urra[T҂C] 22:33, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

There is something about him in WoTLK but I can't say anythnig more. NDA. Izarus (talk) 17:50, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

Point of note on the WotLK hint if I know what is being gotten at: Does his last name sound like a human term?--SWM2448 22:57, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, I was wrong. I thought you meant the Westwing Refugee Camp.--SWM2448 19:28, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Survived so long just to die?

It kind of seems ironic that he survived alone for so many years in the heart of Scourgeland, just to die at the hands of Alliance and Horde, which isn't a spoiler since if you look at the list of the Scarlet Crusade leaders you will see the likeliness of not dying at the hands of the Alliance and Horde are slim to none.--LangstonTheCoward (talk · contr)

Judging by how some things turned out in quests and what by what Abbendis says about him in her diary it seems pretty likely he wasn't still alive and was merely raised by the Lich King to further manipulate the Scarlet Crusade (since the 'Light' that told Abbendis to come to Northrend was the Lich King). Leviathon (talk) 08:45, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Who is he truly?

Balnazzar is the leader of the Scarlet Crusade in Lordaeron, Onslaught Raven Archons in the Dragonblight transform into minor demons (some kind of Demonhunter) at low health... It's Detheroc!!! These are my two cents... --N'Nanz (talk) 19:30, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Hmm... A Scarlet leader is MIA and then comes back all creepy... You may be on to something.--SWM2448 20:10, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

It seems more likely he is part of the Scourge making it unlikely it is a Dreadlord in disguise. Wouldn't surprise me though if he ended up being the fourth horseman that replaces Mograine. Leviathon (talk) 19:39, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

What makes it more likely!? And the demons in Scarlet Point? --N'Nanz (talk) 17:54, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Well Abbendis was lured to Northrend by the Lich King who she thought was the Light and then Barean Westwind suddenly appears after they land making it seem like he was sent by the Lich King and is not a renegade Dreadlord. I don't recall seeing any demons in any camps either unless you mean those dogs and I wouldn't look too into that. Leviathon (talk) 02:29, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

I see no source about the voice that lured Abbendis to Northrend being the Lich King. In fact when you start a death knight (and you are still part of the Scourge), you know the Scarlets are moving to Northrend through questing (spying on Scarlet documents), the SCourge doesn't know about that voice... The demons in service of the Scarlet Onslaught are Onslaught Raven Archons. --N'Nanz (talk) 10:33, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
Some strange things happen about the Admiral. For example, we are sent to kill High Abbot Landgren. We are in disguise but he recognises us (he says that "Master" told him) and instead of us killing him, he jumps off the cliif, committing suicide. Later it turns out that he has been resurrected and is now Scarlet's Archbishop. But, read it and see it yourself. http://blizzplanet.com/content/870 http://www.worldofraids.com/gallery/files/3/0/2/2/0/3_765749_original.jpg Izarus (talk) 13:34, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I saw :-) Landgren also says: "No. I will leave this world in a manner of my own choosing. And I will return, the grand admiral's will permitting!" IMO this means that Westwind is the true chief of the Onslaught or at last of its machination... --N'Nanz (talk) 18:51, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

The 'Raven' aspect of his doings hints at Anzu to me.--SWM2448 23:45, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

The hint of the voice being the Lich King Nanz are the reactions Abbendis has to the visions with the voice such as chilled breath, she woke up freezing etc. which are not things you would expect from the Light which is described as 'warm'. Also during the DK event you are just a DK not a commander of the Scourge and in the end just being used so what reason would the Lich King have to let you know his alternate plans. The entire event actually worked out well forcing her to rush to Northrend rather than make full preparations. Leviathon (talk) 21:27, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

Good finding. However nor Darion Mograine knows anything about the misterious voice wispering to Abbendis and he IS a commander of the Scourge. I also found this: "Apparently the Holy Light whispered a new blessing to the Admiral in his sleep which he passed on to Landgren. Some of the men have converted to the priesthood and are now being called "Raven Priests"." Since he knows blessings, does this makes him a paladin? --N'Nanz (talk) 13:10, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
  • sigh* No, it does not make him a paladin. "Blessing" does not refer exclusively to the paladin buff, and it almost certainly does not refer to it in this case. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 20:08, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Very well... And what if among the Onslaught Raven Priests' spells there is something like "Blessing of the Raven?"... --N'Nanz (talk) 20:22, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

You are looking too into game mechanics things. Leviathon (talk) 20:30, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

If you'd prefer in-game dialogues maybe this quest log can help. --N'Nanz (talk) 20:58, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

Yes he is 'blessing' them with a prayer that gives them that protection. Leviathon (talk) 04:07, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Here's the questline about Westwind which I didn't find here. http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?quest=12839 Maybe someone did those quests ? Izarus (talk) 11:09, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

I'd like to add a little something to the discussion. Recently, somebody added some quotes to the article, which supposedly came from the Admiral at the Onslaught's post in Icecrown. In it, he said something about revealing his true form; this may confirm the earlier idea that he may be a Dreadlord in disguise. However, whoever posted it did not add any additional information about it, so im not sure if these quotes are genuine. Anyone want to make a guess at this? JPlowman2 (talk) 17:31, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Those quotes are probably from the questline I posted above. So maybe someone who did those questlines saw his true identity ?Izarus (talk) 13:56, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

I was looking around quotes from the beta and I saw this:

  • Mal'Ganis: My onslaught will wash over the Lich King's forces...

I know this is a quote from Stratholme in the past but FFA it makes nonsense for the situation (his duty was to watch over the Lich King) and second it's intrigueing the word onslaught... --N'Nanz (talk) 09:20, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

Mmmm, no, not really. I think Mal'ganis was just referring to the Legion's control over the Scourge or something like that. Toran Wildpaw of the Frenzyheart (talk) 15:09, 26 August 2008 (UTC)

I see that it was you who added those Admiral's quotes to the main article. So maybe you know who he really is ?Izarus (talk) 10:30, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
Can we be sure, however, if that was the original Mal'Ganis? Maybe the Dreadlord did survive his encounter with Frostmourne, and years later traveled back in time to try and ex Arthas out of the picture. I mean, with Arthas killing the Dreadlord over and over again, couldnt it be possible there was actually more than one of him? JPlowman2 (talk) 21:51, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
I think that arthas forgot to kill his last altar and mal'ganis had enough gold to rez him self! Lol im jking but really blizzard is retconning alot of people back.--Whitedragon254 (talk) 02:19, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Orman of Stromgarde

Would anyone object if I add the speculation that Barean Westwind is trying to prevent the Scarlet Onslaught from finding Orman of Stromgarde?

My evidence is the Scarlet Monastery states openly that the admiral is dead which makes it likely he is in the Lich King's service or Detheroc, and Orman is said to be missing which means there is hope and a chance he and his troops are still alive. If I where a Demon or the Lich King I would want to prevent High General Abbendis from reuniting with extrodinary veteran soldiers who have become experts at demon sensing/slaying/undead finding and slaying, and who will probably encourage the Scarlets not to be suspicious of the Alliance and that they need all the help they could get.

Just my two cents from scant evidence on why manipulate when they could attack, which is why I asked permission for the speculation instead of just putting it up.

--LangstonTheCoward (talk) 06:12, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

This is not a forum, and don't add too much speculation to the article. Right now we (in the beta) will have to wait until Icecrown opens up for testing and we can see what the Scarlet Crusade is up to there. g0urra[T҂C] 06:47, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Mal'Ganis ?

Is Admiral Barean Westwind really Mal'Ganis ? Look at this: http://speedydragon.gamestar.de/spell?id=27768 Izarus (talk) 14:05, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

If it is him then Dreadlords really don't like to die. Leviathon (talk) 14:34, 27 August 2008 (UTC)
If the information on that site is reliable, then... this makes the second Scarlet Crusade leader to be a dreadlord. In that case, I very much doubt he's allied with the Scourge for anything but convenience. It's possible that his spirit possessed the admiral when he got lost in Northrend, and plots his revenge towards the traitorous Lich King. INV Misc Orb 04.pngXavius, the Satyr Lord 14:53, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Can see the spell on wowhead also. http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?spell=27768 Leviathon (talk) 19:02, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Do I earn something? :D --N'Nanz (talk) 07:05, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
Wait, what did you do now again? INV Misc Orb 04.pngXavius, the Satyr Lord 15:19, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
You know i think blizzard just made it way too easy for us there, their practicly just handing us the answers. You know that means we fight Mal'ganis twice now? in CoT and in northrend.--Whitedragon254 (talk) 02:17, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Kael'Thas

I think he is a resurrected Kael instead of Mal'ganis...He is voiced by the same guy, and use a magical sphere to hide his true identity...Im positive it is Kael..Wonder if he is headless or not.--Gurluas (talk) 16:18, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Very funny :DDD --N'Nanz (talk) 19:00, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

Need to split NPC and object

These should not be combined in one article. --Gengar orange 22x22.png Fandyllic (talk · contr) 12:01 PM PST 5 Sep 2008

Mal'Ganis and Westwind

Hey guys, should I put a little note on his page about how he's actually Mal'Ganis in disguise? Because the only thing there really saying that he's Mal'Ganis' disguise is his occupation, and I doubt many people will notice that. It's cool if I shouldn't though, just wondering. Toran Wildpaw of the Frenzyheart (talk) 00:41, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

I'd want it. I'm very interested in this.Izarus (talk) 14:46, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Me too, but I suppose I gotta wait until one of the admins says it's ok. Toran Wildpaw of the Frenzyheart (talk) 18:54, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

It's already on there. Don't worry if it's confirmed info. --User:Vorbis/Sig 20:11, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Ok. Toran Wildpaw of the Frenzyheart (talk) 23:22, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Now, where is Detheroc?--SWM2448 01:34, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Dead? O_o. Toran Wildpaw of the Frenzyheart (talk) 02:34, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Heh, you can't be sure at this point, what with two of the three supposedly slain dreadlords having been mysteriously restored to life. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 03:05, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
He's probably possessing a third dead member of the Scarlet Crusade. Have a look at the statues in the Hall of Champions and take your pick! --User:Vorbis/Sig 11:06, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
Would be funny if it was a girl thats for sure. But seriously CMON blizzard anthor person retconned back to life!? whos next friggin admiral proumoore?, Dagren orcslayer, gul'dan?? Man this is getting sort of annoying--Whitedragon254 (talk) 02:15, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
Well, Muradin, of course. Next? Grom, Doomhammer, Blackhand, Medivh, Terenas, Blackmoore, Archimonde, it's only a matter of time. INV Misc Orb 04.pngXavius, the Satyr Lord 17:13, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
