Ta'eran is a broker quest giver initially located just inside the southwestern entrance to the Sepulcher of Knowledge in Maldraxxus. He enlists adventurers to help him gain access to the Sepulcher, claiming that it is so he can safeguard the military writings stored inside for the good of the Necrolords,[1][2][3] but some of his dialogue hints that he's (unsurprisingly) only after the writings for personal profit.[4][5]
After adventurers open the way into the Sepulcher[6] and collect many of the volumes inside, Ta'eran joins them[3] in climbing to the top of the structure and defeating the Archivist in order to access the rarest of the Sepulcher's writings.[7] Upon discovering that the writings are not there, Ta'eran and the adventurers use the Archivist's last words as a clue and jump off the tower to arrive in a hidden chamber below the Sepulcher where the Volumes of Victory—the most important and valuable of all Necrolord writings—are stored.[8] The broker asks the adventurers to grab as many of the volumes as they can while stating that he will have to prepare a larger expedition to collect the rest at a later point. After being handed the volumes, Ta'eran tells the adventurers that he hopes they will work together again in future endeavors before departing.[9]
