During the Fall of Quel'Thalas in 20 ADP, while the main Scourge army was preparing to march for Quel'Danas, some of the undead split off to attack the docks and Sunstrider Isle, with nothing else left in sight to destroy.[1] In the aftermath, no mortal being was alive there to see the red dragon Korialstrasz flew over on the isle after Prince Kael'thas destroyed the corrupted Sunwell. By the Year 25, Ranger-General Halduron Brightwing informed Lady Liadrin that Sunstrider Isle had been reclaimed and was thriving.[2]

Prior to the destruction of the Sunwell, many of the creatures on Sunstrider Isle were at one point bound into non-aggression and complacency by the elf's magical skills, while the isle served as a tranquil place of study and research.[3] Before they turned violent, the Tenders used to aid the sin'dorei in the gardening of Sunstrider Isle.[4]

By Year 26 ADP, the Burning Crystals have long been used to power the isle's experimentations, and the mana wyrms were their guardians. However, the Scourge invasion of Quel'Thalas drove the wyrms errant from the blood elves' lack of magical control over them, forcing them to thin their numbers.[5] The crystals' unchecked power also maligned the isle's wildlife population and natural balance, prompting the sin'dorei to put them down in order to reclaim control.[6]

At some point, Felendren the Banished was banished from Quel'Thalas for failing to control his magic addiction, becoming one of the Wretched and a threat to Sunspire. He eventually came back with arcane elementals as his minions, taking control of Falthrien Academy, until blood elf adventurers decapitated him on the orders of Lanthan Perilon.[7]
