- "There is an artifact that is so ancient, so powerful, and so cool, that it would be the perfect addition to the museum. It's called the Staff of Origination, and one explorer has been working tirelessly to find it."[1]
The Staff of Origination is a powerful Titan artifact searched after by the League of Explorers in the Hearthstone adventure of the same name, as it would make a great center piece for their museum. It consists of three pieces located at different sites around the world: the Rod of the Sun, kept in the Temple of Orsis in Uldum; the headpiece, located deep within Uldaman in the Badlands; and the Pearl of the Tides, found in the Ruined City in Stranglethorn.
The Rod is retrieved by the player and Reno Jackson after it was stolen by Sun Raider Phaerix; the headpiece is retrieved by the player and Brann Bronzebeard by defeating Archaedas; and the Pearl is claimed by the player and Sir Finley Mrrgglton after defeating Lady Naz'jar. Upon assembling the Staff, however, it is stolen by an ethereal known as Arch-Thief Rafaam, who intends to use it to plunder the museum's riches, but after Rafaam's defeat, the Staff is once again placed in the center of the museum.
