Shy-Rotam is the matriarch of the Frostsabers of Winterspring.

Objectives

Storm Shadowhoof at Everlook in Winterspring wants you to defeat Shy-Rotam.

Description

In northern Winterspring, great cats assemble around a large landmark called Frostsaber Rock. The leader of these cats is known by the name Shy-Rotam. Defeating the matriarch of the frostsabers would grant you much respect in the eyes of your fellow <race>.

Go again to the harsh wilds, and once there, gather sacred meat from the frostsabers. Find the stone of Shy-Rotam, and place it there. Placing the meat of her kin before her will summon Shy-Rotam, in anger.

Be ready for her fury, and defeat her.

Rewards

You will be able to choose one of these rewards:
Inv weapon shortblade 14.png [Beasthunter Dagger] Inv sword 33.png [Beaststalker Blade]

You will also receive:

Progress

Shy-Rotam is bold and unforgiving; she will defend her kind with fervent enthusiasm.

Completion

You have proven both your strength and your determination. Many more challenges await you, but I have already shown you as much as I am able.

Notes

  • You first need to kill frostsabers to find the  [Sacred Frostsaber Meat]. Any frostsaber can drop it, but it has a very low drop rate. You then need to use the Meat at Frostsaber Rock which is at location 49,9. This will summon Shy-Rotam. She constantly uses fears as well as causes a bleed effect.
  • When Shy-Rotam drops to 50%-30% health, she will summon her mate, Sian-Rotam. Like Shy, he is also a level 60 cat. If you can kite Shy away from her spawn point during the initial part of the fight, Sian-Rotam will either not spawn or won't aggro. Both Hunters ( [Concussive Shot]) and Shaman ( [Frost Shock]) can easily kite Shy-Rotam. Most people will kite down to Lake Kel'Theril or to Everlook.
  • Both Shy-Rotam and Sian-Rotam are striking in appearance (Shy is white with stripes, Sian is white with a black mane). Because of this, both are popular for hunters to tame. Alliance hunters once needed the help of a Horde player to get one of them, but as of patch 2.3, Storm Shadowhoof now speaks to both factions, making the questline available to everyone.
