Portal Clearing, located on the western bank of Marshlight Lake in western Zangarmarsh in Outland, is the location of one of the dimensional gateways which the Burning Legion used to bring demons from the Twisting Nether. Illidan Stormrage, during his rule over the Black Temple, sent his forces to close other portals in Outland, which cut off the flow of demons and ended the extra stresses on the planet's remnants.[1] The portal that stands here is currently inactive.
