Mariella Ward (or Mariella the Heretic) is a defector priest of the Scarlet Onslaught.

Background

She was sentenced to death for disavowing the Scarlet Onslaught and about to be executed when a priest adventurer, sent by Alonsus Faol, rescued her from the gallows at New Hearthglen in the Dragonblight. Grateful for what she believed to be a chance at redemption, Mariella asked the adventurer for help in proving her worthiness by killing members of the Scarlet Onslaught and freeing other apostates.

With those tasks accomplished, she then requested to follow the adventurer to Netherlight Temple to beg the Conclave for forgiveness. Mariella was accepted as an ally by Alonsus and recruited as a champion by the adventurer.
