Malkor was an orc assigned to deliver and place a bomb attached on the Dark Portal to make sure the humans didn't follow the Horde into Draenor after their incursion into Azeroth to retrieve artifacts. He told the orc Kra'kul that it was just a shield meant to protect them when they crossed over to Draenor to let him take the blame for it.
