World of Warcraft: Dragonflight
Literature
- Divine Comedy — [The Titanic Comedy]'s name and flavor text are references to this Italian narrative poem. Danthyr, the titan watcher, is an obvious reference to Dante.
- Pride and Prejudice — [Pride and Protodrakes]'s name and flavor text are references to this novel.
- The Grapes of Wrath — [The Scales of Wrath]'s name and flavor text are references to this novel.
- The Lord of the Rings — [The Lord of the Wings]'s name and flavor text are references to this novel.
- The Red and the Black — [The Red and the Black Flights]'s name and flavor text are references to this psychological novel.
- The Sign of the Four — Tobias from [Tobias' Leash] is a reference to Toby, the name of the scent hound that Sherlock Holmes borrows and describes as "a queer mongrel, with a most amazing power of scent".
- Farenheit 451 — [Celsius 232] is a reference to the book title which converts to 232 degrees Celsius.
Video Games
- Resident Evil 4 — The [Shifty Merchant's Tunic]'s name and flavor text are a reference to the Merchant character.
- Final Fantasy XIV — The world quest [60-70WQ] Hornswog Hogwash in Waking Shores has Majordomo Selistra say Thank you. Pray return to the Waking Shores. While leveling in Final Fantasy XIV, many characters ask players to "Pray return to the Waking Sands."
Movie and television
- All Dogs Go to Heaven — Sunny's pet journal entry "All dogs go to Bastion. Cats go to Revendreth." is a reference to the movie, with Bastion being equivalent to heaven while Revendreth is to hell.
- SpongeBob SquarePants
- The flavor text from the [Crimson Bicorne] is a reference to the children's show in which every episode begins with a pirate captain asking the audience "Are you ready, kids?" and the latter responding "Aye, aye, Captain!"
- The mount journal entry for [Crusty Crawler] is a reference to the theme song.
- It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia — The quest name [70] Anyway, I Started Bribing is a reference to the quote "anyway, I started blasting" from the character Frank Reynolds.
- Monty Python's Life of Brian - During the Sniffenseeking dig 'Successful Interventions', the webbed guests all claim to be Ralph, with one of them saying "I'm Ralph, and so is my partner!". This references to Monty Python's Life of Brian, where the crucified criminals all exclaim they're Brian once they learn of his release. One of them shouts that he is Brian, and so is his wife.
People
- wowcrendor — Crend the Pointless is a reference to wowcrendor and his two video series "Fishing with Crendor" and "Pointless Top 10". Wowcrendor always begins the videos in the latter series with the statement "Inside pointless things are treasure", and he ends most of his videos by saying "Okay? Okay. See ya!", both of which are referenced in Crend's dialogue.

- Onyxia Wipe Animation — The world quest name [60-70WQ] Many Whelps, Handle It is a reference to the animation.
- Library of Alexandria — The quest name [60-62] Library of Alexstrasza is a play on the library's name.
- The Cooking of Stratholme — The flavor text on the [Curding of Stratholme] is a reference to it.
