Kyranastrasz was a powerful red dragon who fought a mysterious darkness on the Lost Glacier many years ago. He fell in battle and only the rest of his flight knew of his fate. It wasn't until the third invasion of the Burning Legion that the Lich King saw a vision of undead north of Icecrown being drawn to the dragon's remains. After locating the glacier, the Lich King sent the Deathlord of the Ebon Blade to raise Kyranastrasz into undeath.
