Kelantir Bloodblade was a blood elf Blood Knight. She trained with Lady Liadrin and served directly under the military leader of Quel'Thalas, Ranger-General Halduron Brightwing. She was sent to oversee the blood elves aiding in Warchief Garrosh Hellscream's attack on Theramore Isle. Though loyal to the Horde's cause, she found herself gravitating towards the more moderate views of Baine Bloodhoof and Vol'jin which, to her sorrow, did not go unnoticed by the ever-critical Malkorok.

Kelantir was a pale, slender elf with golden hair and bright, gleaming armor. Garrosh incredulously made note of how she could fight and function in such heavy attire, given her lithe frame.[1]

History

Tides of War

Kelantir arrived shortly before the assault on Northwatch Hold, where Malkorok was irritated that neither Lady Liadrin nor Halduron were present to assist in the attack (instead sending, as he put it, a "third-ranking whelp" on their behalf),[2] though Garrosh -- whose respect for the blood elves was not improved by their leaders' absence for the battle -- wearily informed Kelantir that she had a chance to improve her standing and display her people's worth in battle.

She and the Forsaken Frandis Farley were critical of the warchief's strategies and spoke against him multiple times, especially in the company of Baine Bloodhoof and Vol'jin. She was present during Baine and Vol'jin's initial gathering of dissenting Horde commanders and concurred with their concerns regarding the looming Theramore assault. Garrosh interrupted the meeting and slapped Kelantir when she attempted to question him.[3]

Kelantir was unsupportive of Garrosh's usage of the mana bomb to destroy Theramore, feeling it was an act of cowardice, and the usage of the enslaved molten giants during the Razing of Northwatch Hold, calling it cruel and insulting. She also remarks that Garrosh is a fool and Thrall should return and kick him all the way to the Undercity, and lamented that it is too bad that the late Cairne didn't kill Garrosh when he had the chance, because Thrall would never use the elements in such a way, as well as the changes Garrosh makes on Orgrimmar, e.g. iron constructions replacing the simple wooden huts, a disapproval that Baine and some members of the Horde felt. When asked by Malkorok about her absence in Orgrimmar after their victory at Theramore, she snidely claimed that she was afflicted by "iron allergy", earning her a stare from the former.[4] Kelantir, Farley, Vol'jin, and the tauren, blood elves, and Forsaken who were revolted by Garrosh's method gathered at an inn at Razor Hill instead of Orgrimmar during the victory celebrations, much to Baine's relief, and they have a grim discussion (and some of them, such as Kelantir, not above badmouthing) of Garrosh and his acts. It is also likely that the incident of Garrosh slapping Kelantir spread among the Horde members, including the blood elves. Unfortunately, her very words were heard by Malkorok's spies, and they reported them to Malkorok, who wasn't amused. They were subsequently approached in Razor Hill's inn by Malkorok, who questioned them about speaking ill of their warchief. When they remained silent, Malkorok pretended that his spies were mistaken, and Frandis Farley agreed that Malkorok needed better informants which the latter agreed as well. After Malkorok and his Kor'kron left, he then blew away the inn using grenades with them inside.[5]

A vision of Kelantir and Farley's deaths was conjured by the Vision of Time during Garrosh Hellscream's trial. Anduin Wrynn took an instant liking to Kelantir, and believed Halduron Brightwing's reactions to the images shown spoke volumes of the regard the ranger-general had for her.[6]
