  Each strike has a 20% chance of poisoning the enemy which instantly inflicts 19 to 25 Nature damage. 40 charges.

Instant Poison was the first damaging poison that could be purchased and applied to a rogue's weapon. Once applied, each successful weapon hit had a chance (modified by the speed of the weapon) to instantly inflict nature damage. It was sold by Poison Supplies vendors for 25.

Prior to Wrath of the Lich King, Instant Poison was crafted by rogues:

Patch changes

• Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Removed.
  
• Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Poisons no longer have levels and scale as abilities do. Now requires level 10 (was 20).
  
• Hotfix (2010-01-07): The bonus damage rogues gain from attack power for Instant Poison has been decreased.
  
• Patch 3.1.0 (2009-04-14): Redesigned to have its chance to be applied based on the speed of the weapon (frequency-based).
  
• Patch 2.3.0 (2007-11-13): All poisons will now enchant the weapon for 1 hour, increased from 30 minutes.
  
• Patch 2.1.0 (2007-05-22): Rogue poisons no longer have charges.
  
• Patch 1.11.0 (2006-06-19): Stacks up to 20.
